WARNING!...to all call makers and other site advertisers

It has been brought to my attention that a member here on our site has turned scamming people into a personal business.
One screen name that he goes by is CritRDone.

This individual has a nack for ordering merchandise from you guys, and pouring out the excuses for delayed payments, to keep the shipments coming until someone finally catches on and stops shipping.

I've been told that there is an entire posse of fellas that work with this guy running this little network, and there is some serious money pending.
Another e-mail alias for him/them is DesertServicesCo@aol.com

It's going to be tough to track this guy down because he's on AOL and a ban on his IP will unfortunately wipe out several AOL users. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Therefore I will be going through all 108 posts made by this screen name, logging times they were made and on which IP address and contacting AOL myself.

I highly advise each and every one of you to BE AWARE of who you are selling to when dealing on credit or verbal terms.

I would also like to hear from anyone that has been hit by this guy or anyone involved with him. If your uncomfortable posting it, e-mail me.
Anyone with more information on him or anyone in his network, such as regular names, screen names, etc. Please e-mail me.

Mr Travis, if your reading this, and can prove to me that these folks have been paid and that this is a huge misunderstanding, I will proudly commend your efforts.
Until then, your account on Predator Masters aliased as CritRDone has been terminated.

I want to first apologize to you all for this individuals actions, and I want to thank each of you who have come forward so far with some very unfortunate but interesting information.
 
After reading this I feel thouroughly discusted! As a PM member knowing that this is the place where many come to hang out during some point in the day, and help each other out, spread some sort of info, or just see whats going on. After being on here day after day you begin to feel as family. As time goes on it seems that our sport of firearms, hunting, etc...is being frowned upon. As a group of individuals with such things in common, we have given each other a level of trust for who we are. To have some pile of sh$# take advantage of that makes me wish that we could all get together and have a good ol a@# kicking contest. It's a sad reminder that low life can be lurking anywhere! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
 
dogpopper, you hit the nail square on the head with your post. so i 2nd it bud. it realy is sad to see that some one trusted another fellow hunter and then have them do that to them. this is along the same line's of one bad apple can screw it up for so many good one's. i say string him up by his toe's and pull every toe nail out one at a time as slowly as can be, them do his finger nail's as well. that should teach him some thing, lol. sorry to hear about this going on, hopfully you guy's involved can get some thing to happen.

In three years I have had 2 bad checks, and only one or two people who never paid. I normally send calls when I get the funds. I have only held one check and waited until it cleared before shipping the calls. Most people are pretty honest. What surprises me is that there was no communication among the call makers. This was the first I had heard of it. We need to watch out for each other too.

On the other hand, there are a couple of people waiting on calls from me that have been more than patient. Calls that should have gone out a couple of weeks ago. Calls that they paid for. Sometimes things happen and a call get dinged or doesn't look right and you have to start over. Sometimes you throw out your back and can't climb the ladder to the loft where your shop is, and when you do, can't stand up straight in front of the lathe to do any work. If you are waiting on calls from me, they are coming. I know you heard it before, but they really are. I was able to get to the shop today and actually do some work.

I agree with Al. In the past 4 years, I've only had one bad check and 3 or 4 non-paying customers. None were PM members. I have a simple rule of not sending a call before funds. I don't start any custom engraving with out funds. Most people are honest. Almost everyone I deal with comes from the same "good ole' boy" mold. But at times, you do run across dishonest folk. This is the first I've heard of it to.

It is theft, plain and simple. When the amount goes higher than $500.00 it is considered a felony. Maybe the PM boys should get together list up all the product they have lost and report it to the authorities. I know we who lost have a common shipping address to this scumbag.

Loud One.....This might or might not be your case, but you could still be on the list. Most call makers are hobby spinners and spin when they have the chance, and others just don't spin allot of calls period. I just got a call from a call maker, that I inquired about at the end of last summer. He told me up front about the wait and other issues. To be honest I kind of forgot about it, and then he just contacted me to inform me that I was up next. So now I have my call, and a fine one at that. Could be too that the ones he is showing off are spoken for already by people on th elist before you. If he is selling them then you have a good complaint!!!!

One thing I have learned over the years of collecting....there are some call makers out there that are worth waiting for, because they do, do good work and don't do a lot of them. (Heck, I was waiting for one call and the maker went out of business)

I have bought more calls then I care to count, and my misfortunes have been extremely limited, and a few just darn incidental and not intentional.

*One call didn't show up and the call maker sent another.

*Had communications issues with another call maker, and that worked its way out.

*I have orderd a few calls and just plain got forgot about, or not replied to. But, some of these call maker are Extremely busy.

In all my dealings with call makers have been pleasant and 99.9% flawless. I have only met one I told myself I wouldn't deal with again, and that was for personal reasons. The rest I wouldn't have to think to hard about dealing with again, and a few I would send money too with out even worrying what I was getting.

I've seen this Critrdone on other sites. Quite frankly, I am disgusted.
Because of people like him, I don't feel comfortable paying for anything, except by Money Order. That way, the call maker knows the money is there & I know I have a record of what I paid for.
As far as being on a waiting list...that should be a given. If you don't have patience to wait in line, don't order.

He's the only guy who's never paid me. That was six months ago. I'd written it off and forgotten all about it till this came up.

I tend to be overly generous at times sending the call off before I have the money if it's convenient and easier for both of us. Especially if it's someone I've dealt with before.

Can't say I've changed my ways much because of that. This crowd is generally a very reliable group. Some guys couldn't get their checks out when they said they would for whatever reason. Never been a problem with me, they always showed up. I can think of a good handful that wrote them for more than what I asked because of that.

I've seen some really odd things in four years of selling hundreds and hundreds of calls but didn't get paid only one time.

When I have the cash I donty mind paying for a quality product. I try to get my payments out asap. It is unfortunate that @%&!()# advantage of the members on this site. I had one exsperience were I told the guy that I would have payment out by thursday with paypal. I was not a verfied member but had been using it for some time with out problems. When I tried to use it for this particular payment it said get verified or no funds were going out. On monday night the payment finally went out and I felt terrible because it didnt go out when I said it would. In all it worked out and he never said anything to me but I still felt bad I cant even imagine not paying these skilled people on this board for a great product.
 
And to think that my wife balances my checkbook & is the head teller at our bank & I still get nervous when committing to a callmaker. I know there is no way for my check to bounce but I still get a little nervous. I don't know why but I do. I was almost a basket case when I bought a call a month or so ago & my check never came back. But after 1 PM to the callmaker I found out he was holding it until another check showed up. I'm nervous knowing the funds are there. I can't imagine doing what these guys are doing.
 
I found out about this and deleted my account from that board...I too sometimes get behind, get slow, or sometimes get overwhelmed. I have sent many calls out before payment, and can only think of one guy who didn't make good his promise to pay.....heck, when I was getting started...I sent ALL my calls out and waited for the buyers to pay me whatever they thought they were worth.....still didn't get "stiffed".....the buyers on PM and on TPP are a fantastic group of guys......so are the builders......

I appreciate ALL of them, as they have been better to me than I could ever be in return. They have given me friendship, advice, unnumbered phone calls, emails, PMs etc....Because of ya'll, I am continously striving to build a better and better call....


It would NOT be "PC" for me to say what I think about this guy and his antics....as I have always said, " When you pi%$ on one of my kids, you get me just as wet"!!!
