Easy and tough question all at the same time.
Favorite Make or manufacturer:
I like'em all except for Colt (sold out to easily), Smith & Wesson (just plane sold out) and Winchester (Rested on their past far too long). Personal prejudices are completely at play here.
Although I haven't listed it below my favorite manufacturer is Remington (but Ruger singleshots and Savages are not far behind), in a model 700. Most of my accuracy guns are Remingtons but oddly enough none or my calling guns are.
Bullets:
I much prefer plastic tipped bullets. I believe that they are slipperyier in the air and hold up better while carrying in the pockets, some are way to explosive though.
Favorite rifle:
Depends on what I'm after and what I'm trying to accomplish.
1: For serious all around quick killin' and not saving the hide I use an old model Savage 110 left hand in 243 win. Bullet of choice is ... well ... anything in the 70 or so grain class, If I'm trying to save the hide replace the bullet with a 100 gr deer bullet
If I am coyote and bigger game hunting I like the Ruger #1 in 22-250, the bullet of choice is a 55gr spire point.
If I am going after coyote, fox and bobcat I am going to use a Ruger #3 in 223 Rem., I plan on using 50 gr Vmax bullets, but we'll see on that one. I'm in load developement right now.
In close cover or for legal weapon purposes a Browning 10ga gets the duty, at this time I'm using Federal copper plated BB's but want to try the new Winchester #4 buckshot load, this should be a real killer, we'll see.
For finishing off I use a Taurus 22 9 shot revolver. Not a great shooter but will scramble a coyotes brains at 10 yards or 10 inches with 22 shorts. I hate to have an animal suffer. Many times I'll finish a dead animal just to reduce any chance that the animal is suffering.
