what gun do you carry while trapping?

I am thinking about trying trapping out next year and was curious what gun you carry - pistol or rifle - to dispatch the animals with. I was thinking of a ruger single six or a browning buckmark for pistol, or a .22 henry lever action rifle. What is your opinions?
 
if a semi auto is legal where your at (we cant use them here) it would be better that a ruger single six (thats what i use at this time) and when your hands are cold it can be fun loading and un-loading; i'm shure the semi-auto would make that easier.
 
Colt Woodsman 1st series target pre- model made in 1927. Slimmest, slenderest, sexiest semi-auto 22's made. Mine has bead front sight. Coupled with the long sight radius, it's just like shooting a carbine. The 4 inch sport models carry even better. Nothing fits in a pocket or shoulder holster as bulk-free as a woodsman....... And vintage pistols are just so cool. Here's mine shown with a Browning Buckmark.Don

I care a Remington Viper .22 rifle with me, I shot CB shots to dispatch coons in the cage traps and long rifle for everything else. also the rifle lets you have a chance to shoot that one yote that pulls out when you walk up to him, unlike a pistol will /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

Yeah, that one does double-duty for raping, pillaging and other pirate related stuff. Do ya have the matching blunderbuss?

I carry a single shot bolt action Remington Model 514. I grew up with one, so when I was able to find my own I jumped on it. Very light weight, extremely accurate and very dependable.
 
my son has a rossi single shot in youth that rides on the front of our 4 wheeler......choke down the cats, shoot the coyotes.......
 
I carry a Heritage Manufacturing Rough Rider 22lr/mag.And a Benelli Nova 12gauge.I use the 12 guage for critters that arent in the trap.
