What is the greatest BS story you ever heard?

My boss at work telling the crew before each project, "Don't worry guys, this one is going to be easy."

I guess all projects look easy from behind a desk. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif lol!

One of my buddies say's his wife looks just like "Terry Clark" when she wears her coyboy hat. Hate to tell him, but she would'nt look like Terry with the hat down to her shoulders. OOPs, I didnt say that. I used to look like Brad Pitt before I got sick and older.

A guy I used to teach Hunter Ed with swore his .308 shot 150 grain bullets at 3600 feet per second. Same guy also told the class his dad shot a 28 pound Canada goose.

I had to leave the room after one of the dads in the back asked him which farmyard it came from!

Didn't hear this one, I read it today on another website from a well respected person who is considered an expert on such things and is also an admin of the site.

Qoute" Well you did MISPELL IT, but WHO cares?.
How about taking a Mt Goat at 350yds w/ a 1911- .45acp, ball ammo?.
Yup, seen it done...................... "

The other day I was at a sportsmen wharehouse looking at a Savage predator hunter in 243. The guy behind the counter said I should buy it in the 204 ruger. I told him that I already had a .204 and was looking for something in a 6mm because I have had some runners with the .204.

He said he couldn't believe that because he had shot 210 coyotes last year all with the 204 with out a single runner. I looked him straight in the eye and told him that I have been calling coyotes for over 30 years and that's the biggest bunch of BS I've ever heard.

He didn't say a word just turned and walked down to the other end of the counter. One of the other workers heard what I said and came up to me later and thanked me for putting that fellow in his place. Guess he was one of those guys that's a legend in his own mind.

Me and my partner have shot a few(~40) with the .204, without many runners (3-5), but it would be hard to shoot 210 and not have any runners.

biggest bs story I have heard is about all the guys on the different websites that shoot 1/4 inch groups with factory rifle and ammo at 100 yards, off of their rolled up coat, across the hood of heir truck....and the madness seems to never end.

Ever realize how few of them post their loads and targets to prove such BS??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Well Bluedog, if you're into BS and the shooter's version of "fish tales," its easy to shoot a group at 50 yds and claim it was actually shot at 300, who's to know?

I belong to a nice club with over a 1000 members. Among our members is a man who finished 6th in a recent world big bore championship as well as some other fine shots. If the club is representative, a large number of these awesome groups are just hot air. Don

Many years ago I worked at a couple of retail sporting goods stores, one day this guy comes in and needs some targets to sight his gun in on.

He then proceeded to tell me he didn't want 100 yard targets he wanted 50 yard targets. He said he had sighted it in dead on at 100 yards, but had a bit of a problem the past weekend while hunting.

Seems our hunter was walking down a locked gate road when a mule deer buck jumps into the road in front of him at 50 yards, and by the time our hunter turned and ran 50 yards down the road away from the deer to get to his sighted in distance the deer was gone.

Now some may think this is a BS story but it is 100% true

"Got my elk yesterday, a 6X6!"

"Oh, you did not. get real."

"Yessir I did. I will prove it!"

The guy then went out to his truck and brought in a full shoulder mount of the elk that he shot "yesterday."

Came across a guy in 1980 while hunting Antelope in southern Alberta that told me, if he could see the animal he basically could put it down. This was because he was shooting a 7mm Rem. Mag. and 1/2 & 3/4 mile shots were well within range for him. I said "really"
Asked me what I was shooting and I said a 25-06, He never heard of it and proceeded to brag up the 7mm MAG. (he would mention MAGNUM 2 or 3 times in each sentence!)
For as many Boone & Crockett animals this guy claimed to have shot (all with the MAGNUM of course) I am very surprised to never seen his face in a magazine...camera shy I guess

I knew this guy was full of B.S. within a minute after he opened his mouth and I can't believe I listened to him for another 5 minutes before walking away.( he caught me on a good day I guess)
