Life has been crazy. It is starting to slow a bit. We have most of our stuff moved, but we lost my grandmother last week. So things have been really out of whack. In a month I put over 7,000 miles on my truck between moving, going to the furneral etc. I am excited about my job, I am teaching Industrial Tech. I have beginning Woods, Drafting, and automotive classes. It will be good, but starting the first week being gone from school is hard. Also they loaded up my classes. My one CAD class has 32 students, but only 10 computers for CAD, so they are all learning to hand draft first, then next semester they will begin CAD. My automototive shop is not much bigger than a 2 car garage and most of my auto classes have 20 students. Luckily they are all auto 1 classes so we are spending the majority of the year in the book. The principal and I are working hard to get a new auto shop build that can house more than 1 vehicle and 5 students... Ok all ranting aside, life is good, we are healthy, have food and a place to live. I still can hunt, and my wife still likes to go with me.

As far as Diaphram calls, I do not like them at all. I have taught myself to whistle like an elk, both bugle and cow call, this I use when needed. I have actually called in several elk using no call at all. I also hate the way they feel in my mouth, trimmed or not.

So where are you living now? Are you closer this way or to you move out of the country? If you are anywhere close maybe we can meet up and get some hunting done.

Well I moved to Parachute, CO. Near Rifle CO. Nothing big, but atleast I have a job. The sell of our old house fell through and it looks like it will become the banks problem next month. They are unwilling to accept a short sell, etc. We do not have the money to keep it and there is no chance of renting it for what we owe each month. Wells Fargo pretty much sucks to work with... Heck even if they allowed us to short sell by $10,000 I know we could sell it, but they must like owning foreclosures...

At any rate we should look at meeting up someday once things settle a bit. I am sure there sights to be seen around Raton.

Elks, I'm glad to hear things are starting to stabilize a bit for you... Relocating is bad enough, but you were handed a crappy hand at life's table for a while...It will get better, hopefully...

It seems that all school districts are going through some hard times, with the economy being down and tax structures on the thin wire.... I know that locally, the citizens just voted down a school tax increase by a narrow margin and the county budget is stretched really thin...to the point that it's affecting every service..
