What's your favorite gun you own?

Jim, is that a Kimber factory stock ? I've seen some nice ones awhile back. In fact I was looking to buy a wood/blued Kimber,but got a Montana instead.

My 20 BR shooting 55 grain bullets at 3600 fps. Almost no recoil. Flat and super accurate!

Yes it is Tim. Its an early (2 position safety)84M Classic. I really like it, plus it weights just under 7lbs. with a VX2 Leupold I have on it now.

I have 2 Montana's and love them both.
 
My favorite is a Remington Model 12 .22 pump, I believe from ca the late ninteen teens or twenties.

My grandfather bought it and is said to have practiced with .22 shorts from his easy chair by shooting across the room, out the door, across the hall, and into a trap that sat in the fireplace in the parlor. Like most town-dwelling sportsmen of his age, he grew up on the far and was used to shooting a lot more than he could while living in the confines of a town.

My father and his brothers shot this rifle so much that the chamber expanded. A common problem with these rifles. Dad loved the gun so much, he rescued it from the back of the closet where it had sat idle for 25 years and had the chamber redone.

It's a fantastic litle rifle, the likes of which will never be made again.

I'm along the same lines as Grouse....I picked up an early Remington 121 (ca.1946, subsequent to the model 12) from a member here that was his grandfathers and it's quickly become one of my favorite multi-cartridge (s, l, lr) rifles with it's smooth function and inherent accuracy...



It would be a very close tie with my Walther SportModel V single shot (ca. 1937) .22lr...

 
The favorite gun of mine, of all-time, is the Remington 121 pump that my Dad bought new in the early 1950s. (same model as the one Old Turtle post a pic of above)

Light, well-balanced, super-smooth action & EXTREMELY accurate with just open sights.
Although I never owned it, I used it all thru my teens & into my early 20s. It accounted for too many squirrels & bunnies to remember.

I tried mightily to get Dad to sell it to me, but he never would.
I finally had it re-blued & stained for him back in the mid-80s, as a Christmas gift.
Once I did, neither of us ever used it again.
A few years later, my folk's house got broke into, & the gun was one of the items stolen. Unfortunately, it was never recovered.

As for guns I've actually owned...
Probably the only gun I can call my favorite, would be the 1st Marlin Model 60 that I owned, back in the mid-80s.
Like Dad's Remington, that Marlin accounted for too many critters to count.
During the colder months, for several years, that rifle was always in the back window, even if I wasn't hunting at the time.
It was almost as good to me as that old Remington.
When my 1st wife & I split, in '91, money got tight, & the Marlin was one of the casualties.
 
Like other I have a few that I don't think I'd part with but the one that has the never will b sold or taken will b my Savage 110 30/06 it was the first gun that I bought but right there with that gun is my custom triple duece . Rem 700 action #6 shelin barrel jewel trigger and a pretty wood stock . But still how do u pick just one .
 
Mine is my M1 carbine, my grand father was part of the Belgian resistance during WWII( he was 17) and carried it from 1944 until it was given to me in 2007. It was MFG in June 1944 by Inland and has never been rebuilt. I also have about 100 rounds of ammo with 1943 and 1944 dates stamped on them.
 
Both of my rifles are my favorite, I wouldn't own them otherwise. I am more confident with my 700bdl in 300saum but my M7 243 is right there with it, I just haven't shot it enough to be as confident with it. I won't sell either of those rifles, ever.
 
I have two favorites, for big game A Pre. 64 Winchester in .264 Win. Mag. For coyotes it is a Winchester Youth Ranger in .243 Win.The most handy rifle I have ever shot and on top of that it is very accurate after I glassed the action and floated the barrel. BUT the Dangdest thing is I gave it to my Grand son.

Might have a new one in the making, If I can find a load that shoots to my liking, It is a Winchester Feather Wight compact (youth model) in .243 Win.

My '76 Marlin 444S "Thumper" is my favorite. This is a hard question, because every gun I own is my favorite, but I have a soft spot for Big Bore Lever guns from Marlin.
 
Ruger Mark II .22lr pistol. Picked it up for $90 when I was in high school. Had the grips permanently imprinted on my left hand for about 10yrs.

Second favorite, or favorite rifle would be my wife's rifle. Marlin (pre-Remington) 1895 Stainless Guide Gun .45-70. She commandeered it a few years ago for her deer rifle, so I won't be getting it back, but I absolutely love that rifle. Did all of the action work myself (except some contracted machining), installed some new goodies inside and out, got her running like a top, and one of the better triggers in my fleet. Just in time for my wife to lay claim to it. Facepalm...
 
No secrete around here. It's my Remington 591M chamber in 5mm Remington Rimfire Magnum!

It's topple with a Weaver El Paso steel tube scope. Very fitting for the deep blue on the rifle.

Shoots well enough with the new production stuff!

I have a tie....can't help it. I have a .45 1911 custom by Mikio Sano....very similar to the old style guns by Armand Swenson....shoots and handles superb. I carried it as a duty weapon and used it in IPSC competition. Relaible is defined by this pistol. I have had it since 1974 and it will be pried from my fingers...

The other one is a Sako .222 Vixen Heavy Barrel. I am the second owner. It is just beautiful and shoots better than me.

I oove all of my rifles, but I have to sayh that my Marlin 22mag has to be most favorite. That thing has killed tons of critters. Crows, Coon, Ghogs, sparrows, cats, and even a coyote. I wouldn't be caught without it when calling coon.
