Where are all the big name callers at

Byron South and Les Johnson used to be on here quite a bit. Torry Cook was for a little while but got banned I think. Tony Tebbe used to,Tom Austin,Scott Ruff,Clay Reid and Randy Watson at one time. Used to be a lot of guys on here.
I've even noticed some guys that have been on here for years starting to disappear within the past few years. Guys that were known for killin a bunch of coyotes.
Everyone's splitting off doing their own thing. About the only person giving Predator Masters any publicity on social media is skinney. I've heard him mention this website more than once during his podcast.

There is not much activity on Predator Masters anymore.
Facebook and Instagram are way busier, I have been told.
If people don't start replying and posting on Predator Masters even more people will be leaving.
skinney just posted a GREAT video on 3/10/22. In 12 days on 3/22/22 skinney's great video has only gotten 7 replies. skinney's post was viewed 447 times and only 7 people made a comment.
If the posting and replying doesn't pick up pretty soon even less people will be visiting Predator Masters.

"Big Names" is simply that, it has zero to do with how many coyotes a person actually kills, how skilled they are as a hunter or how much they actually hunt.
Numbers of kills doesn't always tell the whole story of how good a person is either because coyote density and land access is very different across our country.
There are some guys still here that kill as many or more than the "Famous" but don't post much and aren't advertising their self or promoting their self, they simply want to hunt. I'm actually guilty of not posting a lot over the years I've been here since 04'. I've posted more this year than probably all years combined as well as shared videos of well over 100 eastern coyotes I've killed myself this year. A lot of it has to do with deployments and uncle Sam keeping me busy over the years and getting to retirement, along with various other reasons.
There are lots of reasons guys are reluctant to post, one being the software here sucks azz for posting pictures and videos. I know social media is super easy to post and people go to easier sharing platforms instead of hanging on to old forum software.
Another reason is at one time the mods was pretty heavy handed supposedly. I personally have never had an issue but mods swinging the ban hammer, constant censorship and a society of pansies that wear their feelings on their sleeves hurts communities as much or more than the blatant belligerent trouble makers. IMO we should let people work the majority of differences without mods being referees and currently I think the mods stay out of the majority of drama.
Another reason seasoned guys don't post much is competition. It seems now with everyone owning a Foxpros and affordable thermal gear, everyone is trying it and most are simply educating coyotes and making it harder for everyone. Id guess 95% of the night hunters can't kill a daytime coyote! Another thing that's funny is 10 years ago we had threads and list of favorite sounds and now not one single seasoned guy will murmur a peep!!!
One other thing that comes to mind is there seems to be very very few company/vendor/prostaff presence here. I'm not sure why or whats changed behind the scenes but if a person wants to pay and advertise along with posting IMO it can only be beneficial to the community.
I don't do social media so I really would like to see this site grow and have more participation.

Seems as though newcomers get here and ask the basics and then vanish. They either have given up or they started killing coyotes and don't have anything else to say.

He caught a lot of grief over a "rock on" type hand gesture his son made in a picture. Seems like if not everyone is having as much success as someone else they can't deal with it. Instead of asking questions and learning something that kind of stuff happened. Not cool and not really good for this website in my opinion. I take any information I can get if it will benefit me in the long run. I don't come here to tell people what words they should say in a video or what their pictures should look like.

I enjoy this site, and read almost every day, but don't post all that often. I don't kill the big numbers a lot of others get, but enjoy reading most, and have learned a lot. Also have had a lot of questions answered and lots of help. Been looking on here well over ten years, not sure how long as a member. Really this and the 24hour campfire are all I look at.

I have listened to podcasts with Les Johnson, Tony tebbe Rick Pallet and a few others where they mentioned "the old predator masters forum" and the general consensus is that politics ruined it so they stopped coming.
I know I personally have stopped coming and posting on here for the main reason that nobody wants to take the time to reply to a post. I will spend lots of time making a post with a good story and photos and 300 views will get one answer of "nice"
There's no point in posting if nobody appreciates the time and effort put into doing so.

The acknowledgement needs to go both ways.
When the big names/heavy hitters only post when they have success, it becomes nothing more than "Look at ME!" and people grow tired of that as well.
It's nice when those who are well seasoned in the game aren't to pompous to acknowledge others success and answer newbies questions regardless how many times it's been asked.
People enjoy the interaction. It makes them feel welcomed and encourages participation.
Others are only in it for themselves and will go where they get the most traffic in hopes of gaining notoriety, sponsors, and freebies.

I agree also. I do like the success stories and pics/videos, but I also don't mind hearing about someone's mess ups or when things went wrong because that's reality, or at least it is for me lol. I try to post a few of those every season. If I posted them all, that's all I'd get done lol.

I've been doing a "Tip of the Month" here on PM trying to drum up some interest and like others say, why bother 400+views and one comment, I hoped to start a discussion, even a "Your Full of Caca" would make things interesting and start a discussion where others could see different points of view.
I've been here a long time, made time to get to conventions, and try and support this sight even on sights where it gets a lot of flack because it doesn't put up with crap. You go to sights where there is an interesting post and it turns into a "sh-t storm" with folks calling each other homos and stupid and just being downright irritating and the post is completely lost, that doesn't happen here, the people that think they can say whatever they want because they are anonymous doesn't happen here. This sight strives to be informative and entertaining.
In the past if you wanted to learn about predator hunting, sights like this and "Coyote Gods" is where you went for info along with books and magazines. Now I can go to my smart TV and pull up FoxPro's channel and more You-Tube videos than I could watch in a year. Sad part I have to take everything as gospel as there is no exchange of ideas.
The world is changing, I've been chasing predators since the 1960's some years living off my fur check. I'm glad I'm not young and have the burning desire to live the life of a hunter trapper that has been my driving force for a long time. High prices, low fur prices, political climate is putting a real stress on predator hunting. Not many are going to be able to take their winter off and run traplines and call critters and live the life.
I'm glad I've had the chance and I try to pass on some of the things I've learned.

wonder what happened to jeremy from okie land. he was a mod here and posted a lot, lot of dead coyotes. that guy was/is a [beeep] of a predator hunter.

I'm the same way as 204 AR. Except I do post my failures and that's it as of late because I'm hard on myself when I fail. I'm not a big name predator hunter but I take predator hunting very seriously. It bugs me when even one gets away.
That's all I have posted for a while is failed hunts. I'm past the stage of learning how to kill coyotes and on to learning why I didn't on a stand when I should have. I figure that's more helpful than posting about how I did kill one. It's not the easy ones you have to worry about. It's the sneaky ones that need killed. I couldn't tell you about near as many of the ones I've shot but I can remember a lot of the ones I didn't.
The longer I do this the more I realize even if I learn something "new" that same scenario might not happen again for years. Every coyote,every setup is different. Whether it's location or because of the wind direction,time of year,time of day,ect. these are animals nobody will ever figure out completely. None of us will ever kill 100% of the coyotes we see or call in, in even 1 season. It's impossible. Can't happen. Even the guys that are well known can't do it. Anyone that says they can or did, did a lot of video editing.
No matter who you are that's one thing that keeps us on the same level basically. I'll never be as good as a lot of guys. I'm not trying to beat you. I'm trying to beat myself. I want to be as good as I know I can be. But....I know myself. And I'll never be good enough in my own eyes.

Interesting & well stated. BEST insight to this thread. As for the guys doing it as a profession. I wish them all well. I believe it is short sighted to judge a hunter on amount of kills. However, a high kill rate shows they know their quarry & have done well. When I was young it was all about the kill. But not many years into my hunting. I became more interested in observing the coyotes un-molested without any hunt pressure. I admit I found it more satisfying. Such an interesting animal to learn from. I have learned more about them by just observing them vs trying to kill them all. Killing a coyote has never taught me much. Other than at times they can take a pounding before dropping stone cold dead. Most of my latter years hunting coyotes. I just observed them from a distance. Doing that has made me a better hunter IMO. Versus just killing them. Anyone can kill one. But to learn what makes them tick. Is by far more rewarding. Well, to me anyway. Back in the old days. I would see low to mid 40's up into 80+ coyotes a season. Getting to watch them be themselves. Was the best part. They have taught me far more than my rifle ever has.
