Why the trend to fast twist heavy bullets in .223?

A LOT of ARs (m-4) are 1-7. Needed to spin then dang long steel cores...

I can get Amax to 3700 but not in 223

This is what I like to see, the correct way of choosing a bullet.

For the hunting I do I'm tied to the lighter bullets especially in a few areas where there is livestock and buildings. I just can't risk a ricochet, I need something that disintegrates on impact.

Things would be different for me if I lived in a state that allowed rifles to be used for larger game.

Maybe he greases his bullets, and then pours some snake oil down the barrel before he shoots them.
