Winchester long beard XR

A buddy of mine shot some through his browning silver nwtf with his undertaker choke tube at 40 yards and i have to say for a 3" number 4 shot I was pretty impressed. Absolutely ate the target up. Dead gobbler written all over it.. I now have a couple of boxes of my own to try out as well..

I haven't shot it but by all accounts everyone seems to love it. Let us know how it does for you.

Does this do alright with a wad stripping choke? I use Indian Creek Black Diamonds which really likes the Win Xtended Range stuff, looks like I might have to switch over to this stuff. As soon as I run across some in 5 or 6 shot I'll grab a couple boxes.

I got one box of 5's all they had in 3 1/2. But they had a bunch 4' and 6's going back to get 2 boxes of 6's. I had my SX3 12 3 1/2 worked over by Gobbler Guns in Batesville Ark. I seen some patterns it is some bad stuff pattens great. I get a day off going to pattern it.

Ive killed 2 TN turkeys so far with them. My setup is Mossberg 835 with Indian Creek choke and #6 shot. 1st bird was shot at 64 yards and the 2nd was shot at 23. I patterned it all the way out to 70 yards with really good results. I dont like shooting that far but it will kill them at that distance.

I hope they follow up with the new resin in loads for other critters.Anybody know if they came up with a new wad design for these or did they just using one of their other wads?

I haven't seen that claim, guess I am not paying enough attention. That begs the question why an individual pellet fired from this load would penetrate deeper than other similar loads? Isn't a lead #6 fired at a given velocity going to penetrate basically equal to another same as lead #6 fired at the same velocity?

You are probably right. Of course they make the assumption all other manufacturers pellets will be deformed horribly upon firing. I hate hyperbole advertising. Not saying the Longbeard shells aren't great but...
