Winchester White Box 22/250?

hi kf9vh,

I don't have a 22-250, but winny whitebox is my favorite factory load in 223 rem, probably the same 45gr jhp pill...
my busmaster varminter has a 1in 9 and loves this load and my cz has a 1 in 12 and also loves this load

hope that helps

I shot this in my Colt AR and the first round failed to eject. I had to take it to a gunsmith to get it out. He said the primmer was BLOWN out of the case. Perhaps it was just a bad round but now I am gun shy. I an going to give it a try in my Savage 22/250 and see how it preforms.

Thanks bushy for you thoughts.

My Savage model 111 seems to handel the white box just fine. In fact it dosnt do too awfully bad. I get better accuraccy with the hand loaded stuff but sense I dont roll my own yet I will stick with the white box stuff

That was the only stuff I bought when I first got my M70 Coyote 22-250. I basically only wanted it so I could reload the once fires and it was cheap to shoot at prairie dogs. I found the pressures to be a little on the high side for that particular rifle. Not extreme, but a few cratered primers and a stiff bolt once in awhile. As for accuracy, they usually go around an inch or just over, and thats with a bedded stock, etc. My handloads do much better for accuracy, but for the money you really can beat them.

I noticed the same thing, it was louder and had more recoil than the handloads I was shooting. It also gave me flatteed primers, I don't remember if it shot well or not.
