Snapped a phone pic of my son after an unsuccessful attempt to call a gobbler up the ridge to us.
Couldn’t see anything in that video, looked like a mirage to me. May just be my phone.
Lets see if i can post this video. So i heard a cat screaming from a distance this morning and hustled over there as quick as i could, but within a few seconds of me getting there and pulling my phone out it went silent. Never did see it, im sure it busted me and snuck out through those rocks. Im 90% sure it was a lion but couldve maybe been a bobcat.
Ive heard the contact whistle several times. Even got a good trailcam video of one whistling. Ive only heard one screaming once, nov 2023, i was deer hunting and a lion came and parked her ass about 75 yards from me and screamed her head off for 5 minutes or so. As soon as she started a heavy fog rolled in, and it started getting dark. I had already filled me cougar tag a week or two earlier.I’d go with bobkitty cause the only mountain lion sound I ever heard was chirping.
Thats a heavy racked old stud buck there
Could you raise the weed eater high enough they couldn't get to it? I always heard the birds wouldn't come back to chicks that had fallen from nest and you handled them to get them back in the nest. A few years ago two dove chicks were huddled on my front doorstep. I couldn't find the nest in out oat tree but wired an old Easter basket on a low limb; both parents were watching while I replaced the chicks. They came back to the "nest" and raised both chicks. Wife and I had our coffee every morning watching them until they flew from the nest. Its about 4ft off the ground. Hopefully the barn cats dont get the babies, but i havent seen them around in some time.
Thanks, he was a nice buck. I was looking over my life long hunting/fishing partner's shoulder when he shot that buck, he passed two years ago; it was the last buck he ever shot. That picture brings back lots of memories!Thats a heavy racked old stud buck there
