i deer and coyote hunt and ive been eyeing scent lok, underarmor and scent blocker scent control clothes. whats your thoughts, does this stuff work or not? i see scent blocker is a little cheaper but scent lok is known. what do you guys trust?

Waste of money.
Myth Buster did a show on trying to fool a Blood Hound tracking dog. Jaime bathed in unscented soap
and put on two fully enclosed rubber suits with supplied air and the dog still found him.

scent lok stuff is expensive and for myself underarmor causes more body scent.
Merino Wool breathes and reduces odor with a broad comfort range.
Reducing scent does not hurt like take a shower. Like said you will never eliminate it.

Put on a scent block suit, pass gas, see if you can smell it.

Thats a silly example I know. I think scentblocking clothing is more for the hunter than the prey. If it gives you confidence then thats all that matters.

You'll never fool a canine's nose, but you might confuse him long enough to get that perfect shot. That said, I don't use scent control clothing for any hunting. Dont't even own any of it. Just hunt the wind. If you hunt with it, you'll get to hunt longer too.

you can take the steps to be VERY effective but they have to be extreme.
have done it and works wonderfull but as a rule, i just play the wind.

If it gives you piece of mind and you want to spend your hard earned money on whatever you want then go for it! I spray on crap every time before I hit the stand, does it work probably not, do I make people like Lee and Tiffany off the crush rich by buying it, yes but does it hurt anything I doubt it! So if it gives you that extra piece of mind then do your thing chickenwing... It like the placebo effect in medicine, if you believe it makes you a better hunter then you will become one.. I do doubt any of it works but it may work by giving you the confidence in you thinking you have a better chance, may give you the extra hunters mojo...

That's me, Mr. PC!

I've learnt this from years of sitting in a tree stand.

Exactly what I have always thought!

save your money for gas. myth busters tv show did a whole segment on the top 3 co. and they all failed really bad.

I don't think it can hurt but it's not critical. Most of the cloths that are scent lock are good quality. I'm a firm believer in scent free. I go scent free everything 1 month before hunting season.soap, Deodorant , detergent and most of all I don't wear my hunting cloths any wear besides hunting. I always find it funny when guys are filling up at the gas station or at a restaurant with there gear on stinking it up. Yes you can always play the wind but it's still a gamble what direction the animal will come from. Since I went scent free I've seen more deer and noticed the deer are way more relaxed when down wind. Just my 2 cents.

yeah I'm not one to wear my clothes out and about, they are hunting clothes so I don't wear them to dinner like I see some people do. lol. I looked into them but I cant see spending $300-500 on a outfit. I almost did the other day and seen how much it is for my size and they must be smoking crack when making pricing them clothes.

True too.

As opposed to a cover scent or scent blocker, I DO believe that sometimes a lure scent placed near the call can be beneficial...

The only cover scent that's ever worked for me...
