I used to use alot of Zeiss products in the Victory line. When the Conquest was introduced, I tried them out and they aren't bad for the money. I have had 4 Conquest scopes that went in for warranty work, 2 of them for internal debris. Since Zeiss didn't repair the Conquest scopes on this side of the ocean, they sent the exact same models as replacements. No questions asked.
Then along comes the Terra and HD5 lines, along with some policy changes that I was not aware of. I bought a 3-15 Conquest HD to try out. There wasn't enough adjustment in the side focus to get a proper clear focus beyond 400 yards, let alone get rid of the parallax. I called Zeiss and they said it would need to go back to Germany.
Days turned into weeks, weeks into months. When I got it back Zeiss had done nothing and I had an invoice telling me the scope is within their specifications. Frankly I got screwed. The scope now resides on a .22 rimfire rifle. That's right, an HD5 3-15 on a .22.
I am over it folks. For mid range price stuff I am back to Leupold VX3 scopes. For all of my long range stuff, it's Nightforce all the way. No more Zeiss, no more Trijicon (another horror story), and no more Schmidt and Bender (rolling globe effect).
