The only way you will really know is to get one shoot it for awhile and then get the other, depending on what you are using it for will determine which you like, along with do you like a smoking fast round that is the bomb for prairie dogs and ground squirrels out to 500 yds.
I've known guys that preferred the .223 because powder goes so much further. Those shooting a few thousand rounds on a PD or squirrel trip will feel the difference in cost.
I had a Rem 700 BDL varmint that shot consistently at shy of half an inch, Sako Varmint that did the same thing in .22-250. Wish I had them both back.
Get the .223, use it, you may love it and never find the need to try a .22-250.
For me I started shooting coyotes with a .243 and a .22-250, my preference was solidly for the .243, way better wind resistance, rarely if ever a spinner or runner. Dropping to a .223 for me is just heading the wrong way, but it seems like there are large numbers of guys that are very happy with the .223.
