It would be used on Axis, Whitetail and Hogs 50-400yds.

Thanks,

My son-in-law has a bushmaster complete upper in .223 and asked if he could use the current upper receiver, parts, etc and replace the barrel with one cambered in 6.5 or 6.8?

Any help would be appreciated.

I want an alum lower and wonder if it is cheaper to build or just buy a complete lower ?

All I need is a crisp trgger pull between 3-4lbs so I wondered what might be the best way to go?

PS: The stock on the plumbcrazy has some play in it and I was wondering if all the C-stocks have play in them......Would it do any good to replace it (same type, not fixed) ?

Thanks,

One issue with the AR-10 style rifle is that there are 3 basic types and for the most part, they are not interchangeable. When the 308 AR was designed, there wasn't an industry standard, so we now have three basic options. Each one uses different type mags also.

1. AR-10 Armalite style, (Noveske, Eagle, Aero Precision, CMMG) Uses Armalite style mags (although Armalite just came out with a PMag compatible lower, the AR-10A)

2. LR-308 DPMS, (LaRue, CMMG, Tactical Machining and a whole bunch more) Uses MagPul Pmag 20LR and R25 style mags

3. LAR-8 Rock River Uses FN-FAL metric and inch pattern mags.

You cannot use Armalite uppers on DPMS or Rock River lowers and vice versa. The handguards, barrel, lower parts kits, etc are different between the three. Just keep in mind, when building a 308 AR, you have to pick your poison and stick with it, it's not at all like the AR-15.

I gave up on the AR 10 when I seen how much one weighs.

So it looks like I'll be going to the 6.8 but that info is go to know though.

My first optic up grade has been completed, mounted a 3-9x40 Trijicon Accupoint with green dot and love it.
