Haven't even been able to submit the form 4 because I have a cadence after my name, Jr. I've been on hold waiting for the ATF to fix the "glitch" in their system for three weeks. No answers, no time frame, only wait .
Just received my can today via UPS. Start to finish, just under two months.
Went out and shot it and wow, what a difference! No blow back, gas block was right on, no issues, just amazement at how quite it is.
I purchased a Rugged Oculus 22LR suppressor, at a local gun shop, submitted my information for approval on a Tuesday morning. Thursday afternoon the gun shop called to say it was approved and that I could pick up my suppressor at my convenience.
5 years ago I went with a Form 1 and built my own suppressor for a 243. I did all the work myself and it was approved in 16 days.
My second approval last week went really quick. Submitted on Monday afternoon about 5 pm and was approved 8 am on Thursday morning. Basically a two day turnaround. Now it's sit and wait for the LE notice and then wait for shipping. Hopefully by the time I receive the new can it will have been in under a month.
Finally decided to get one yesterday and filled out everything and submitted from the gun shop and checked my e-mail and was approved didn't even take 24hrs.
The past Long wait times always amazed me as the actual background check is the exact same as purchasing any firearm. Just the added duty /step of a tax stamp being affixed to a document which usually is done by a treasury official vs the FBI's hired contractors for the background check.
