Bolt action 6 groups, 5 shot challenge

It's a 24hr time limit!! How much more time do you need?? There ain't a rifle in the world that can't do this test in the time frame!

Again if you don't want to do it then don't! No one is forcing you to. If you don't like the rules simply stop posting in this thread and quit opening it! To be honest it seems even if the rules suited you there would still be something that you would wanna complain about!

As others have stated what this test proves and understands it in the way it does prove it. I don't see how you are not seeing it. I'm starting to think you are afraid of what you might find out about your rifle that you don't wanna know!

It seems this comp is not for you for the following reasons:

It cost to much to shoot it.
It takes more shots then your used to shooting.
You own nothing but hunting rifles not bench rest.
You don't think 24hrs is enough time.

By the way if I showed up to a bench rest comp with any of my rifles they would laugh me off the line!

SO if you wanna play go shoot your 22LR as long as it's a bolt action and post your target up! There is nothing to be worried about as this is all for fun! No one will beat you up about your groups unless you keep posting these dam 3-4 shot targets trying to prove something that your not willing to prove in this test!!! These are the type of shooters we are trying to wake up and open their eyes!

Man now I have to find 30 rounds to shoot? Oh well I remembered a box holds 50 so I guess the 204 will head to the range with me in the near future.

This should be fun and thank you for letting us pick our own aiming points.

Greg

Looks like I only had 2rnds left. Cranking out more in the event I get time and weather cooperating. Slow going trickling every round and using the old 5-0-5.

I see that the 6 five shot groups is a clone of a Benchrest match, one warm up and 5 targets for record!

I headed out this morning wind is howling, waste of time to pull the trigger.

Only we need too. The rules are pretty simple in my eyes and no one is making anyone do this. If it was mandatory I could see putting up a fight.

But we also spell it Sunday. I also like that you read your ammo. At least yours has a story to tell.

We don't need no stinkin warm ups! Never a waste of time to pull the trigger, just a waste of time to try and shoot groups. Also one of the better times to shoot 22LR at extended ranges really helps with your wind calling.

I don't save targets much. This is the last one I saved that I could find. 4 of them are 5 shot groups. One is 8-10 shots. 100 yds. Not a bolt gun, but pretty respectable for a semi-auto. Shot with a bipod and rear bag......

Somewhere around here I have 2 targets, 5 shots each @ 500 yds , both groups under 1.25". Both shot prone in matches. Superseal110 witnessed one of them.........

went to BASF yesterday to throw some lead down range and got a target to post up here...also shot one with my 6dti but will shoot another one next weekend due to the fact that I shot like crap and don't feel like eating that big of a piece of humble pie.

Here is a target That I shot with my tikka in 223.
first 2 groups were the best and were bruno 52 hps, then 1 group of berger 52 hp, then 1 group sierra 52 hps, then 2 groups sierra 53 hp's...now that I am out of the bruno's, of course they do not make them anymore.

avg group size was .711, which isn't real bad but I am glad I didn't make any predictions because I was expecting it to be under .5.

Next week I will shoot them all with the same load and see how she does...nothing like using 4 different loads though.

I guess we can allow this target even though it was shoot with 3 different loads.;) Only thing I need you to do is snap a pic with your calibers measuring your best group. Just edit your post to add it in. Also a pic of your rifle to please.

Proly not anytime in the near future. I'm doing my final prep for bow opener , which is a week from Monady.

I don't think I ever said ,I've got an all day long 1/2 MOA rifle anyway.

I know damm well I've never said that(while sober).

Well I need different targets to shoot. I shot 3 strings with the 22-250 this morning then pootched it so I didn't shoot the 223. I'll be up Thursday morning with the right targets.
