As far as price goes... Unless you are shooting some factory loaded obscure LARGE caliber, 30 bullets are not that expensive. I can guarantee the price paid is worth the knowledge you will gain, tenfold! Likely, if you think 30 bullets is a lot, then you VERY seldom shoot your rifle & probably haven’t shot it that many times all year.

Yep, I've averaged about 35 bullets a week for the past 18 months.

I have always shot three round groups so my bbl didnt get too hot. I learned a lot from this. It was fun and once I get more ammo built I will do it again. So the way I look at it, im in 4th place by way of default....

2muchgun: I know you wanna beat us all but your target does not count as you already know. Take that 10/22 and put it into the semi-auto thread in the AR section. I know you got a couple bolt actions screaming to come out and play!

I loved the F usually I just stand up and scream the word right after I pull the trigger. Needless to say I try and go to the range in the off hours.

Your more then welcome to bring as many as you want but be nice.

You don't have to have your name in all 10 spots you know!!

Everyone is allowed to post more then one target! So If you know you can shoot better get back out there and do it!

All right Coleridge it's on like donkey kong!! Your just lucky it is the 14yrs with the wife today or I would be at the range! Don't be shocked if you see a F by each hole k.

Still don't have any 85gr pills so I had to use the 65 vmax's. Don't remember how well they shot but the paper says it grouped at just under .5 so we will see.

I blessed each and every bullet and cursed your name each and every time I ran the press!

Gonna shoot the .22LR also to help keep the barrel cool in between groups so as long as the weather holds up I should have at least 2 targets to go up.

Well... It's been weighing on my mind. Had to try it again with the little BR, trying a different hold point with hairs atop the dot (notice higher print). Think I'm going on to green'r pastures with more powerful optics

It's a little better, so i'll post. Not sure how you will judge it since it's the same rifle??? Had another standout group with most others very similar. No real big goof this time anyway, just enough to break the .5+ mark though.

I dont understand how shooting 30 rounds can be so expensive that a hunter wouldnt want to get out and try this. I shoot factory ammo out of my .223 and can shoot 30 rounds for right around $12. I just installed my bench at our farm so if I have time this weekend I will be sure to give it a try. Good shooting to those that have already posted. Hope noone had to take out a loan to participate.

I think if we could get mass participation this would be extremely valuable info to hunters/shooters & the manufactures (sponser has already expressed interest in other post)! Post what you got, regardless of results.

I got the gun, the bullets, targets, and the lack of ego worrying about posting a bad target. Just trying to couple time, weather, and the place to get this done. I'm not going to race through this one like I did the AR comp just to post a target. I'm going to have to re-shoot the AR one as it is, I don't want to have to take out a loan to shoot these

I think the ones that do shoot it are the ones that learn from it and have no shame in posting a target up (which there should never be any! Look below ). The ones that make up reasons not to shoot it are the ones that don't want to see how their rifle really shoots!

I wasn't sure how to judge your targets as far as which to go with and that is the reason it is taking so long to update the post. I think I have come up with a fair way for everyone. I see no reason to not give you credit for some amazing shooting that you have done. So I will take the best of both targets but you will only have your name once on each spot (unless you shot with another rifle). So with one rifle you can only have 1 spot but if you have more then one rifle you can clean the boards if you would like (10 rifles).

So you will have from your second target the #1 spot on avg. and from your first target you will have #1 spot for smallest group.

You have made the .5 MOA board and you are the first and only one out of both shoot outs on either board!! Congrats on that one!

Ok well to start of I will tell the bad. It turns out I'm not all that great at blessing bullets!

I woke up this moring with a killer headache and knew I shouldn't go to the range. But with the bank coming through with the loan for the bullets,primers, and powder I figured I better use the funds. Weather...yeah it wasn't in my favor either but enough crying.

Also didn't even think about shooting the 22LR for groups in that wind! I just could not shoot for poop today. Coleridge is playing mind games with me.

Now this is to show you guys not to be worried about your groups! No calipers needed here just yard sticks!

Thought no problem it will still get me on the leader boards as there is only 4 as of now so I will have 5th place right??? Yeah just now when I'm posting this I see there is only 5 aiming points not the 6 required!

EPIC FAIL ALL THE WAY AROUND!!

To start off I have no flippin idea what was going on with my scope but as you can see I was aiming at the center target but hitting top left target! After that painful group I adjusted my scope to where I thought would be good and set my sights on the lower right target and still needed more to the right but the group was the best I could get today. Group number 3 well needless to say it just turned in to a blasting target. I know I'm in trouble now as I'm not sure if the bank will loan me any more money after the 100's of dollars I just wasted. But I will be back again this time with proper brass and bullets!

But in the learning side of things there is a plus! Don't go shooting for groups with range brass you picked up and just neck size it. Don't believe your notes on past loads that you just happen to find on your reloading desk! Also don't load just the 30 rounds add some more to check scope adjustments.

The reason you never trust 3 round load testing!

Oh dam.... my bad guys I thought this was the mini 14 shootout!

I was just showing Doggin that mine shoots better then his!

Funny thing is the thought crossed my mind to use a shotgun to do this shootout with but since it's pump and not bolt I figured some would cry foul.

Really though it was just a bad day of shooting on my part! If that was the best the rifle could do I wouldn't even own it. I thought I would post the target to show you can still have fun while breaking the bank. Maybe Saturday I can get back out if not it will have to wait till next week. As bad as I wanna knock Cloeridge out of number one spot not sure I can. My main focus is on the Semi shootout as I need to get back out there and get that .5 crown!
