Nope, I bet you can check alot of forums and find me on them.

Maybe I'll build myself a custom rifle on a Browning action, and we'll shoot some groups together sometime.

I've owned, and still own at least one gun from every major manufacturer out there. Just speaking it how it is, A-Bolts are the smoothest, most accurate guns out of the box there is.

I have no problem with you, or your choice of rifles. You sound like someone who actually has experience to back it up. It is the guys who I know are FOS that piss me off.

Here is a Win 70 custom 270WSM. I consider the A-bolt and model 70 to be about exact opposites when it comes to harsh environments..........

As far as smoothness and accuracy out of the box goes, I'll give that nod to Sako.........

Now there is a rifle I like. I used to be a big fan of Winchester rifles (still am, just won't pay the whorehouse prices they bring now-days). I do still have a Pre '64 243 in my collection that is probably 96%. And let me tell you one thing about that rifle, it will shoot whatever you feed it very very well, even with the vintage Weaver glass sitting on it.

I know what you mean. This 1953 '06 will shoot every 165gr load i've ever tried in it 1.5" or better. It is not a tackdriver, but it sure isn't picky........

SOrry been out of town fellows. Very nice looking rifles. You all know I just like picking on ya'll about my abolts. I have plenty of 700s too that I like. My main reason for posting was I was shocked at how good the rifle shot that day at 150. I was honestly expecting 1 1/2 5 shot groups and wasnt gonna be displeased since it is a factory browning. I am in the next month or two gonna start a custom rifle project Im thinking of a ofcourse a 700 BDL or CDL action or possible a Sako. I like the spiraled bolt though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif. I dont want to wait for a Mcmacillin stock to get maid either so I really not sure how I am gonna go it. But I think a 6mm/.284, 6mm BR, or 308 Norma Mag is gonna be my choices. I have been talking about doing this for over a year and just havent got down to business yet.

Nothing wrong with that savage...I still retain one in the stable that'll never go anywhere, its a shooter for sure....plus I'd only get a couple hundred bucks it I did decide to sell it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just sold a Savage 308 in a McMillan A3, it was very good shooting rifle......only sold it to fund a 243AI build on a Remmy action.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

MPFD....I have no love for the accutrigger, just couldn't get used to it. I much prefer an adjusted old style savage trigger.

There is a lot wrong with Savages now come on /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. They should be made in China with all the other cheap crap inported into the US HAHHAHA /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif
