Steve,
Now where did this "old" part come from?
I appreciate the good thoughts.
If anyone has ever doubted what the capability of a well built specialty pistol is capable of doing at distance (out to and beyond 1000 yards at 10" targets with bonus targets being upside down triangles that measure 3" across the widest portion) when shooting from field positions, they should be put to rest after this.
Every miss on the LR targets (with the exception of the bonus targets) is -20 points. Only 2 hits per target are allowed for points and you have to engage every target twice or you also get points subtracted.

With 2 field courses each on Friday and Saturday it kept you busy (getting the most bang for the buck).
My partner and I had never competed before together and Darrell had never done a match like this at all before.
The only match I had done that was similar to it was ITRC (International Tactical Rifleman's Championship). Steve and I did this back in 2004 with 2 single-shot XP's using long-eye-relief pistol scopes!
I enjoyed ITRC, but I like this format more, simply because there was more field shooting.
I love shooting distance from field positions!!!
Loved the bonus targets!
I am already making plans for next year to be better prepared, and so is Darrell.
The prize table was nice and we came away with some very nice goodies and cash.
If this is a match you can make next year it would be worth your while.
Another thing that I thought was very worthwhile was the amount of money that was going towards the Wounded Warriors.
Excellent shooting opportunities combined with deserving focus on those whom have served and have paid a high price on our behalf is such a worthy focus.
I knew money was going that way from last years match, but I did not realize the extent of it until this past week. I was not able to compete last year (First match), as it was the very same weekend our daughter was getting married. I was able to walk her down the aisle and perform the ceremony!!!
WTRC is a great format for any kind of prep for short to LR coyote, chuck, and prairie dog hunting
Carbine shooting, usually AR's engage targets from very close to 500 yards or a tad further.
