kodiak61 thank you for your reply. I have nothing agents Dan personally. I do not know him (I have never met him). If members are lying about Dan or making things up they should be called out and I hope you do just that. I understand hatred for some one who has done you wrong (real or perceived). I have no room to talk when it comes to that. As you have said he made a poor decision to post what he did, but he did post it and if he does not care that he loses business and respect over a feud then that is his business. I wish you no ill will and respect you for standing up for your friend/mentor GOD speed to you and yours.

Nothing he posts is worthy of serious consideration. Its just the ramblings of a crazy man.

I really wanted one of his AR's built up in 20 Practical, but after watching his craziness on that other board, I decided to take my money elsewhere.
 
His posting seriously injures our sport.
Our survival is at risk and the words he wrote drive a nail in our coffin.
Regardless of how good he may have been, he acted like an immature teen ager with that posting.
No judgements here, just interested in making our sport stronger, not weaker, and he weakend it.

I am in a agreement that Ahab's post weakens our sport and our cause as hunters. Even though it was intended as a bad joke, these types of things posted on an open internet forum have repercussions.

What was the crux of Ahab's issue with PM?
 
Wow. I see so many TOS violations all over the place on this one. There's gonna be some nastygrams coming!

It's too bad that a personal grudge has gotten so far out of hand that Dan has opted to go so far out of bounds. And, it's too bad that Redfrog opted to craft the note that he did on PM. No one is innocent here folks.

I think a number of folks know that Redfrog isn't my personal favorite here either. But, it doesn't help anyone to go somewhere else and complain either. But, this thread should have been a read only thread. Like I said, there's so many crummy things going on here that it should be locked down ASAP.

Thats pretty interesting. Theres always more to something like this than meets the eye.

For a person to behave in this manner, suggests a tramatic change in their life of some kind, perhaps a simple chemical inbalance or perhaps something much more extreme,it's a shame that this has happened.

I think that the posts of the members here, pretty much speak for themselves. This is one of the more open and reasonable hunting sites around. We are for the most part, simply people with a common goal, which is to try to keep nature in some sort of balince, no matter how unpopular it may be with part of our socity, there is a reason that certain predators need to be kept in check. I experince this every winter with lions roaming this part of town eating the neighborhood pets.

In the mean time lets just get on with what we do best. blue

Both parties involved would do well to read "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.

This is like a bar fight between two individuals--it needs to be taken outside before stuff gets broken inside....

I don't know what the fight was or is between Dan and the PM staff and I guess it is none of my business.

I do know that Dan has treated me very well even before I was one of his customers and passed on a lot of "food for thought" and shared lots of technical info relating to firearms.

I received a phone call one day from one of his customers interested in a custom rifle I was considering selling. Dan had given him my phone number and told him I had a rifle that was very similar to what he wanted Dan to build and would save him a couple hundred bucks. Not many people would turn down business to help a fellow shooter.

Looks like Dan made a big mistake with his post on the other forum. It is sad. I can only wish that the parties involved in this feud could make ammends.
 
just letting people know i'm not Davey Crockett on the monster board. i would never go there. after all the hurtful thing's thing's they have said about me. i do the best i can every day to survive. thank's for all the cruel thing's you guy's have said. Rick
 
I'm new here and have only a couple of posts, so I don't know what started this whole feud. But after reading the the remarks and posts of others on the other forum, I am absolutely disgusted. If a person(s) who owns a business and conducts themselves on an open forum like that will not receive any business from me. I was actually in the market for a custom AR upper and was searching for quality products. I will now mark one off of my list. I see no sense in making remarks about anyone and everyone who does not see eye to eye with one's own ideas. It is unprofessional and childlike and this goes for both this and other forums. The whole "joke" to PETA is uncalled for. It puts me in the mind of a person who works for a child welfare agency trying to become a member of NAMBLA. It is wrong and and totally ludicrous and is a stab in the back to all hunters.

Well , I can see I waited too long to post on this one !

I don't know the DRAMA between PM & DC and don't really care. It was personal I'm sure ! All it takes is someone too "plant the seed " and sit back and watch it grow wild!

Now it has affected the site just like I'm sure it was intended ,joke or not it worked! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Now because DC is in the posting censor, I can not talk or post any pic's ( If I'm ever able ) about my guns or hunts that involve Dan's work! I'm just a happy customer not a friend of Dan but, that should not matter.

It's disappointing to find that there is someone out there who would actually find humor and think it was a good idea to send that thing along in Rick's name. What a meaningful life that person (and I use the term loosely) must have to add that to his list of accomplishments. It's too bad whoever is responsible is actually taking up space and breathing oxygen that could be used to support meaningful life.

It's a shame that the responsible party will never lay claim to his heroic deed. He's too busy giggling from under his rock and the 1 or 2 people he may have confided in are too embarrassed to admit they know him.
