Dead dog walking TV show.

I caught another episode the other night. I think they were in Tennessee.

First up the one guy was up in an elevated deer box/blind. A coyote did show up and the guy managed to shoot it in the azz or guts and it went to spinning and ran off. That was about the first 3 minutes of the show and then it was commercial time. YIPPEE! I had seen enough.

The show and that guy(s) certainly do prove that a coyote isn't real picky about sounds. Worst sounding calling I've ever heard. I still say he should stick to calling ducks and geese. Or maybe we should start using duck and goose calls more for coyotes? IMO it's the saddest predator hunting show to hit the airwaves yet. Still better than none I guess.
 
I hate to do it, but I have to pile on here, too. I gave the show one more chance off the DVR this morning. It was the Nevada episode that was about half bowling. While bowling, they had to use a "lifeline" and get another local to basically lead them to an area where they could call up a coyote.
It was pretty much like all the episodes, so far, atrocious calling leading to either a missed coyote or one that caught their wind while they were all looking the wrong way.
What capped it for me in this episode was the "tip of the day" or whatever they call it. It had nothing to do with calling predators; it was about filming. Mr. Belding went on about their HD cameras and then discussed the mini cameras they also used. He described the various cool angles and shots they obtained by using the small cameras. As an illustration, they showed some point-of-view footage of two foxes being dispatched with a pistol while in foothold traps. I have no problems with trapping whatsoever. I do know however, that the trapping community usually treats public discussions of dispatch methods with a bit more discretion than that. From all my years of watching hunting shows, finishing shots and other coupe de grace type stuff is usually not emphasized. Just like I have no problem with people going to the bathroom and I hope it's never outlawed, I don't want to see that on television, either.
These guys come off as juvenile and amateurish.
 
I cant wait until I get home to take it off my dvr. I watched the last one that was recorded. I love nothing more than to watch a predator hunting show and see guys at the bowling alley. [beeep]! And needless to say, I know we all miss coyotes, but that much. And then to put it on tv! I would rather watch I-Carly with my girls. That has to be the worst hunting program on television.

That's my view of the show, too. I watched it for the last time a few days ago. It will no longer be recorded. They may be good at other types of hunting but with coyotes they don't impress me.

Their other show is just as bad. I watched it once.
 
After all the comments, had to give it a look see.
I cant get the show,but a buddy gave me a copy to watch.
Sad to say, pretty bad.

These guys come off as juvenile and amateurish.

Just finished watching the Dead Dog Walking Bowling show. Cheese! Come ON! They open with two missed shots, go bowling and (finally) shot one ONE coyote all the while talking like they're the world class experts and we ought to be grateful that they're sharing their secrets with us.

Les Johnson of Predator Quest and Fred Eichler of Predator Nation both talk TO the viewer not DOWN to the viewer. I'd rather watch Les or Fred but their shows aren't on anymore.

Anybody know when some new Predator Quest shows will be coming on?

I caught the episode with the pistol point-of-view dispatch of the leg-trapped foxes as well. While my kids get hunting, I had to make sure my 10-year old who joined me this year in the field for the first time didn't see that particular clip.

Not because there was anything improper about what was an obvious ethical dispatch of the foxes, but for our younger hunters like my 10-year old son who are still "getting it", this is a scenario that should be introduced in the field when it occurs, not the way it was presented so dispassionately on this show.

I want him excited to be in the woods and learning the outdoors as much as I do. Dispatching an animal in the field should be taught in the field, not shown as some kind of tough guy kill shot for general consumption on the tube. Just my 2-cents.

Honelstly, i was watching and surfing the web at the same time so i didnt see it all and cant get too critical of the details.

What I saw- Very poor shooting, somewhat arrogant members.lots of commercials and endorsing.

But i seen them also trying to be different; i am 25 and i liked the background music (maybe bc there wasnt much for hunting something was enteretaining.)
I also liked the aerial video. And they had a tech tip of a small video camera the size of a shotgun shell and how they use it in there sets. and twice during the one program i watched they seemed supportive about others getting into the sport or trying to video there hunts i thought that was kinda neat.

All in all they need to clean some things up and i think they have a show that might stick around, then again maybe i should see another show before i say that.

For the comment of needing a show where they share the wind direction time of year and day, caliber and sounds they are using, thats a show i waiting for as well.
 
One of the reasons I like Mojo Outdoors is that they post temp, wind direction, and other conditions on their show before each filmed stand. I really enjoy Byron and Terry's laid-back personalities and hunting styles,too.
