Favorite Camo????

in southern new mexico and arizona where there's lotsa dead yellow grass, i have gone to M2D.

otherwise,i'll wear Nat Gear or Open Country Seclusion.
i have to agree with Furhunter re: Nat Gear diamond cut jeans....it's my favorite pants--tuff enuf to keep small prickly thorns out and better wind protection; just can't find'em anywhere anymore.....wearing the flimsy thin bdu style just ain't my style.

King's Desert Shadow for face mask--half face style--is easy on and ezy off. it's the lightest color design i have found for the grassy areas and it's ventilated.

snow time....either Nat Gear Snow camo or Cabela's Seclusion 3-D Winter coverup jacket

most of my coyote hunting gear is either Max 1 or MO brush. i also like max 4 and MO duck blind for most of the pastures we call. even if we hunt in wooded areas there is enough grass for any of these to blend in well.

King's Desert Shadow. Took me a while to convert but I'm a believer for our high desert country. Snow Shadow works well but I only use the jacket right after a snow then use the bibs only.

That being said, my go to camo ends up being Sitka Mothwing. Not because the pattern is so great (although it IS pretty good) but because the material is awesome. When I need more insulation the Desert Shadow jacket goes on--haven't sucked it up for the Sitka jacket yet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like the sticks and limbs camo I have......seems to make me disappear. SM

ASAT would be my first choice without a doubt, then Natural Gear. But if you ask me, ASAT does the best job. Camo patterns are made for hunters, not the game they pursue. Just like fishing lures or flies. ASAT does the best job of breaking up your outline and that is more important than blending in with your background.

ASAT, Open Country, and Prairie Ghost Snow. My partners use Open Country Snow and it looks great from all distances. It may be my next snow camo when I need a new set of cover-ups.

Just gonna let everyone know that ya need to check out the article in Predator Xtreme mag about how a coyote see's its environment. It's a 3 issue article but in the last one there is a lot of pics of different camo's. There is a lot of guys on here that like nat gear, but the pics in the mag don't really fare well for nat gear. M2D camo was a really good all around camo. I'm not trying to sound like an expert just wanted to put out there that the article is a really good one to check out on this subject. The pictures are really good to show you what to look for in a camo pattern. I'm sure some of you all have already seen it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Yep... you better believe everything you read.

Me, I'll keep using the NatGear... because I'm more interested in actually killing dogs... than reading about how I look in a magazine. By the way Predator Xtreme magazine is like the Playboy of varmint hunting... lots of good looking critters... but very little content. Fortunately, if my wife catches me with one... she doesn't beat me over the head with it.

NatGear says it all... right here:

"If you want to make a fashion statement by wearing the "latest" sticks-and-leaves artwork, so be it. If you want to disappear naturally, with a pattern that's open, soft, shadow-free, versatile, and totally devoid of sticks-and-leaves, wear NaturalGear! "

Im actually interested in killing dogs too... but cant do it 24-7 so those other times a magazine read works good for me. I also didn't say Predator Xtreme was the best mag ever, I just stated it was a good article. Also if you like natural gear thats fine, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings but, was just stating my opinion on how it looked in all the pics in the magazine. Just a response to the way that your whole response sounded sarcastic but if thats not how you meant it then I apologize beforehand, and ill quit being so sensitive /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I probably should just be quiet but......I thought about this subject when I read the PX article.

It looked to me like PX stacked the deck on the camo pictures. Every pic they took had a lot of dead grass in it; either in front or behind the "hunters". Looked like PX was in bed with M2D to me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif It wasn't exactly a diverse choice of settings even though it appeared that way at first glance. And, just to make sure I offend everyone, Nat Gear works well here if your sitting in front of rimrock otherwise it looks like solid blob.

Have a nice day everyone! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
