How many of you hunt Coyotes alone?

I go alone a least 90% of the time. I work rotating shifts with days off during the week so finding a second gun isn't always easy. I really like going by myself, the main reason is I can do exactly what I feel like doing. Which is hunt the entire time. Some guys say they want to go, but when you say that they need to get up early, get some decent camo, get a rifle that doesn't shine like a new penny and spend some time learning what to do they tend to wuss out or say they don't need to. I have put a fair amount of time/money trying to learn this sport on my own. I have to admit that this PM site has been the best thing that helped score song dogs.

I'd really like to go with someone that I can learn from, that can drive for once and I don't have to clean my truck everytime, that has a couple of good places to go and is just fun to hunt with. You know the type guy who says let's go tomorrow and you know he'll be ready for the day.

I'm gonna try doing some calling and shooting on my own, after our controlled deer hunt ends on sunday,(southwestern ontario),but usually as soon as the snow stays on the ground, usually their is a group of about 15 of us that get together on saturday's,,driving backroads, lot's of communication,,and when we see tracks or visuals,we'll suround the block,,and a few pushers if needed and knock em down,,we have way to many yotes around here..

I used to do alot of calling on by own but after talking to alot of people in my area, they all use the same call! Theres a guy that has been playing the same cottontail distrees tape since the 70s that hunts one of the same propertys as me! I pretty much gave up on calling around here and have better luck pursuing them the same as I do deer. Just sit and wait! Waaaaay too many educated coyotes where I hunt

99.99% of the time by my self. Nobody wants to go out before daylight, in the "cold" and may or may not see anything, and maybe or maybe not possibly getting a shot. If there is not immediate action, nothing but constant fidgeting. Think it is better to go alone way better results, but would be fun to be able to have a good hunting partner. Would be more enjoyable.

95% of the time I am alone. I work a swing shift so I go out alot during the week after work. None of my friends are the type that will get up at 330am to go out yote hunting. Or start the night of hunting at 10 pm.....lazy bastards! LOL

but my fiances brother in law is all gung hoe for it. He never went yote/crow hunting before and so far loves it even though we havent seen any yotes. So I think I have a partner whenever I need or want one.

I've had some success calling at night, but having probelms running a light and shooting. Anyone have a good idea on how to both by your self?

Most of the time I do on my own. I seem to be more successful on my own. I think it is less movement more scent controlled...that makes it good.

This.

Alone most of the time. For me it's about being out there, relaxing, reflecting, and planning my next week or two.

The only thing that occasionally interrupts me is a Coyote followed by a loud BANG!!!

I do both but I love long drives with no one yappin in my ear, I like the sound of the desert without other people around. When I am alone I do not have to worry if my buddy is having fun, or I we are hunting hard enough or too hard. I can drive where I want, stay on the stand as long as I want, call areas I like, and not have a buddy alway bringing up my misses for years to come.

I bring my sons mostly now, if I go with anyone.

I hunt alone about 36% of the time.
The other 52%, I hunt with someone else.
The other 91% I take the dogs.
Heck, I even have tried bear and lion calling by myself.
See my tag line....

and I suck at math.
huh.gif

I hunt alone most of the time...I definitley have more success by myself. Something to be said for spending some time with friends and laying down a few yotes though, so the company is welcome from time to time.

i hunt 90 % alone , 10% with mr. joe, so thats why i dont have to many kills because only in that 10 % i get to see the yotes ...........
