If you were buying a new 22-250? whats your vote

Savage has always been good for me. Most of my rifles are stainless Savages. I have a couple of Rugers. I don't have the time or do I want to build a gun. I want to shoot it. So when I go gun shopping, I only look at Savage in what ever caliber I am shopping for. I always go with stainless. No regrets.

Savages are good, but tend to be heavy. Also some like the AccuTrigger, some don't. Love the CZ, except for the prices as of late. Tikkas are good too. Some don't like the look/feel but most are excellent shooter for the $$. Those three brands are all I buy anymore.

doggin coyotes. I had a 700bdl about 25 years ago and it was new when I bought it. Man what a shooter. Wish I still hade it. If I had to buy new now it would be Rugerr77, svage, or CZ.In that order.

I have a Savage 12 FV that is a sweet shooter, but pretty heavy. It is a great gun for the money, but it could use a different stock.

This is a pretty interesting thread. I fully expected to see guys liking Kimber, sako, cooper, etc, with money and avalibility no object. Yet I still see alot of savage, Howa etc... that says alot..... some of the more entry class models have even been mentioned.
Looks like some of the manufactures are doing the right things even with the entry class models..
VERY INTERESTING!!!

Here is what I did. I was sitting with a new Rem 700 bull barrel in 22-250/ 1:14 twist from a another project. I bought a used Rem 700 sport model and asked the GS to make it work. It is now a smi-custom rifle that shoots way better than me but I have a feel for this rifle rather than a out of the box that I could have had for maybe the same $$, its personal when you create one.
