An actual draft does require an act of congress & no one will be surprised if it happens. there will be a buildup to it.

So long as recruitment goals are being met -which they are, easily right now- talk of a draft is nothing more than fear mongering

It is my understanding that NATO is a defense organization, meaning the treaty stipulates that if a member state is attached, the others will support its defense. We weren't attacked here, so there is no obligation for them to support us. And given how much piss Trump has rained down on their heads since taking office, I'm not at all surprised our former allies won't offer support.

Funding, or their lack of it, is a separate issue, but one that certainly needs to be addressed. Mid-war is not the time I would choose for that discussion though.
