Iranian Uprising

An actual draft does require an act of congress & no one will be surprised if it happens. there will be a buildup to it.

So long as recruitment goals are being met -which they are, easily right now- talk of a draft is nothing more than fear mongering

Just heard the US military commandeered the whole US supply of Prussian blue, and potassium iodide. This means the civilian supply chain is cut off.

UK has 1 fighting ship, Germany has 3, France's all have white flags. UAE had 10 fighters, Saudis have a few more. Sign-up for the draft is auto in Tx when you get your license at the DMV.

It is my understanding that NATO is a defense organization, meaning the treaty stipulates that if a member state is attached, the others will support its defense. We weren't attacked here, so there is no obligation for them to support us. And given how much piss Trump has rained down on their heads since taking office, I'm not at all surprised our former allies won't offer support.

Funding, or their lack of it, is a separate issue, but one that certainly needs to be addressed. Mid-war is not the time I would choose for that discussion though. :)

The daughter was reading on some site that the USS Michael Murphy was to be conducting operations (blockade, de-mining) in the region. She ran out to my office and was like do you have a warship named after you? I said the USS Michael Murphy is named after a Medal of Honor winner for actions in Afghanistan. You didn't know I won the medal of Honor? Her jaw about hit the floor, I laughed no it's named after Michael P. Murphy a Navy special operations operator, he won the MOH, not I.

I know many on this site's members are upset with the current administration handling of this.

I'm left to wonder if this is simply not a smoke and mirrors operations. While we did knock back Iran's nuclear program what if the true objective is to shift the "Davidson's Window" further down the timeline?
Davidson's Window deals with China invading Taiwan, which has been projected as "about 2027" ( it's projected timeline that DoD has used for years). Without direct confrontations with China how would one shift that window? Oil importation. Whom is the biggest oil importer to China???

Sometime it merely pays to observe whom is ally with whom, and just how strong that allegiance is. Or simply test the resolve of one's own allies.

Understand I'm not saying this is what is going on. Nor do I know for sure it is.
But, we do know that the POTUS is infamous for using smoke and mirrors to achieve a objective. Is this giving too much credit to a politician? Yes, it could be, then again maybe not. Or the POTUS could be simply lost in the sauce as many claim.

It is just a thought floating around in my head. It's not to relieve pressure on the POTUS or defend the POTUS's actions. It's a simple thought of what if the operation is not actually what it appears to be on it's face?

Truth is to actually see we will have to just observe and see.

Yes folks we have a treaty with Taiwan pertaining to invasion... and why would we give up our semiconductor manufacturer to main land China. Some of the electronics we have that are labeled "made in China" is made in the China we also call Taiwan. Yes there is two China's which is why, we refer to the non communist China as Taiwan.

This is just a thought theory I have about this I might simply be barking up a tree without a squirrel in it. There is nothing to back this up.

Honestly a blockade wouldn't make much else sense.
It's just a thought that I desired to share, nothing more, nothing else.

Used to be a member on here and a couple other forums. Good friend. Got to hunt with him four or five times even though he lived in Ohio. He went by MLM on the forums. Michael L. Murphy was his real name. Damn, your post just reminded me of old Murph and I sure miss that dude. He was a LRP in Vietnam, volunteered for multiple stints - had the time of his life blowing shit up, or so he said :ROFLMAO: . Lost a leg doing it though.

He loved to trade guns. Loved it. I let him beat me pretty bad on a trade once. He'd been after my 788 .22-250 for years and I finally let him have it for a very poor trade. I knew it, but didn't care. I got a war issue Walther P38 for it :ROFLMAO:. But anyway, Mike felt so bad about that, he kept sending me knives fairly regular the rest of his life. I have a bunch of knives he sent me. Most still NIB. Won't mean anything to my kids, but I hold on to them, just because.

Oh, and I think China has been getting oil through the strait all along. They aren't suffering a shortage. But way better than that for China, Iran is charging in Yuan now to move other nations through. China got that for nothing. And that's huge. Petro dollar, and all that... One of the worst outcomes of the war. Bad, bad, for the future of the dollar.

I suspect you are very correct in this . But a blockade could put a hurt on their supply. Of course they could and would do the exact thing they have done for decades merely a reflag of tankers.
This was done decades before the Shah was deposed from Persia.

Yeah the USS Michael Murphy is named after Michael Patrick Murphy born 1976 ( a good bit after I was)

The name is actually quite common usually what separates us is middle name and birthdates.
