Long range shooting

As was stated, drop is the easiest aspect of shooting long. Wind is the real bear... I was told to buy a kestrel and take it everywhere I could. Watch the natural wind indicators and see what your kestrel tells you the conditions are. Also from experience, if you don't have a friend that can be trusted as an accurate spotter, get a phone skope and be your own spotter. That alone can save a ton of frustration.

Or even step it up a bit... The Razor

I was at a match yesterday and saw a lot of guys struggling with not having a zero stop. We were cranking dials all day, and guys were getting lost in what rev they were on.

The pst may have a zero stop ( I'm not sure) but it is nice to have.

+1!!!!!!

I saw a few guys hit the line for a 500 yard cold bore shot, and miss the target by 30'! Needless to say... they did not have a good day....

Guess I'm just screwed with my factory savage 111 lrh in 338 lapua magnum and should just give up before I even get started eh.

Yep, might even need a 30 MOA base to get it over into the next zip code.

A Bushnell ERS on a 20 MOA base has enough travel to get a 300 Win Mag out to 1750 yards.

It comes factory with a 10 moa base. Haven't settled on a scope yet (no cash). I did swap out the factory bolt for an extended tac bolt. I've also purchased a sig kilo lrf and a kestrel 5700 elite with link and applied ballistics. Also wanting to swap out the accutrigger for a rifle basix 4oz-3# trigger.

Nice!

Isn't that killing you? I would almost sell one of my kids to get a scope for that, ( if it was me)

Just kidding! Sounds like if will be a fun rifle for launching projectiles into the next county!

Yes, its killing me. I've been trying to free up some cash. Sold 2 guns already to get where I'm at now. I've also picked up a redding die set and 100 pcs of once fired lapua brass. Still have my elk/coyote hammer up for sale but there doesn't seem to be much interest in the 338wm. Maybe I'm priced to high but I refuse to just give it away. I also have a 2010 Yamaha fjr1300 for sale too if anyone wants to fly in to Vegas and drive it home.

One more thing I just thought of. What anti-cant level do you guys prefer or use? Level on the rings? A separate level on the scope? Of to the side? I need to get a couple of these.
