I will apologize in advance for stirring the pot more, my back killing me today so i am onery...........

Remington has sold millions and millions of 700's, with 200 something reported issues, a trigger malfuntion because it was set too light and not safty checked (which can happen with a lot of trigger) and poor gun handling is not the same as a gun blowing up. you can use perfect gun safty and still be killed by a gun blowing up, the injuries and deaths from "malfuntioning 700's" are 100%, completely, absolutely, without a doubt the person handling its fault not the manufacturor (unless you think that woman who won millions because she spilled hot coffee on her self at mcdonalds deserved the money because it was mcdonalds fault)

Its pretty bad that some gun owners accept anti-gun,Media trash talk pushed by the anti-gun groups with unfounded videos and paid "experts" trying to further their anti-gun, constitution stomping agenda as FACT. when clearly they do not show both sides of the story.

Rant over, putting soapbox away....Sorry again

Fin out

Knight Disc over here. SS over camo stock with a Weaver Grand Slam on it. I have used it for over 15 years and it is going strong. Like an idiot, I thought I needed an upgrade, I bought the T/C Omega, SS, laminate and thumbhole stock. I sold it six months later. It wasn't a bad gun, just not as accurate at my beater knight. The camo pricing on the stock is starting to come off though.

I kind of enjoy a little debate back and forth. If we all had the same opinions this world would be pretty boring.

Heck, just the other day I learned that "2muchgun" (or "statjunk" depending on what message board you are in) is not only a firearms expert but is an archery expert as well.

Just kiddin you a little there 2muchgun or is it statjunk?

Old statjunk has evidently studied your writings for quite some time then.

My apologies to you sir!

CWeeks, there is a HUGE difference between a rifle that may fire unexpectedly and one that may explode when fired.

In the first case, if elemental safety issues are followed (muzzle control), no harm will be done.

In the second, no amount of elemental safety would make a difference.

I do not agree with you for the most part. There is a little difference but not much. Any rifle that has a saftey issue is a saftey problem you can slice it and dice it all you want, and yes if you keep the gun pointed in the right direction concievably the 700 is less of a liability....but if it will go off while closing the bolt why not when it is bumped or you fall.... in this situation you may not be able to control the direction of the muzzle. Still a problem and a major saftey concern.

I bought a knight disc magnum SS camo stock,I bought it brand new back in the day.It has a simmons 2.5 x 10 x 44 scope.I still have it.It is a tack driver.I bought a tc pro hunter, but I got it in 7mm rem mag.Because some of my buddys had pro hunter muzzleloader. There guns would not out shoot mine.Pro huner muzzleloader great gun,not near the same quality.Knight is back in bussiness.Go to there web site,You want to talk about some sweet guns for 2011.CVA, Traditions if your on a budget. You get what you pay for.
