Some folks get extremely irate when a utilitarian piece of equipment is used as effectively as their Loopys at 1/10 the cost.

It is a well proven fact that I hate to get wrapped up into scope threads ( /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif) but I will say that when buying scopes I like a little insurance peace of mind. It is one of the very few pieces of equipment (and one of the very most important) that I take into the field that I cannot replace on the spot. Rifle and ammo are the others but lets face it, rifle and ammo fail a lot less often than scopes do. I can replace calls and camo easily, some other things I can do without if needed, even socks can be replaced in the field unless I forget TP. For the nominal difference in price I like to go to the best of my financial abilty at the time in scopes.

.....there was a 8-24 on an armalite ar50 and it was holding up pretty good.

.....i was very impressed with what i witnessed. ..... in this case the ncstar that i shot with deserves the credit since it was on a high power rifle and did not fail to perform.

.....we were shooting 300 meters and i did have to put the scope on 16x to get a good view. when cranked up to 32x it is really fuzzy around the edges.

LOL..!! Sounds like a good reliable investment to me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Just one question: Was it an 8x24 or an 8x32?....where it was "really fuzzy around the edges" on the high end... ?

I like the idea of having the comfort of buying a scope that works instead of buying one and wondering when it'll take a dump.

'Expensive' optics is usually cheaper in the long run....

sorry it was 8x32 my mistake on typing. i was fuzzy like an out of focus camera or cheap glass. it could have been simple as adjusting the ao or focus but i wasnt going to start cranking knobs on someones scope. i never said it was a good investment and i personally would not use one if they gave me one. i just thought it worth sharing what i had seen and figured i would hear about it after posting.
