OK Lets say your guns are banned!

Fist off, I have no plans to hand over any weapons that may be in my possesion. But just for the sake of knowing how the "bring lots of body bags" crowd plans to fill the bags, I'll bite on this one.

Let us assume that the guys who show up at your door to take your guns aren't going to be local cops in uniform at 5:00pm. I don't think the U.S. armed forces(well, maybe some National Guard guys) will turn on the population, so we'll leave them out of it as well(including spec. ops). What if it were Nato troops that were trained by the Federal Gov. & backed by the U.N. ? May be they would be smart enough to generate regional lists of target homes or sites by what they deemed your risk factor to be. Would it be possible that one night a shape charge could blow a hole in the side of your house & the next thing you know there would be flash bangs going off in your bedroom ? What if they used tear gas, do you sleep in your gas mask ? If they were to fill your heating ducts(if you have them) with gas before they even come in, would you just wake up in jail or the back of a black van ? What if they just came to your work dressed as a guest of the company & walked up behind you before knocking your butt out ? The list of ways to "grab" you if they want you is endless. It was said that if 20% of the people were armed against the gov. that it would fall to a revolution. I'm not sure that would be the case if they were to go about it in the right way. With enough intel, there could be a decent list of gun owners put together in this country. If you are on the list & don't hand over your weapons, becoming a criminal, are you ready to flee to the hills. What if you were not able to buy, sell, hold a job or even enroll your children in school if you made "the list". Sure, many of us are ready to do that today, but if you are on the "red list" & get grabbed in the first round up, you probably wouldn't even see it coming. My point here is that unless were are aware that we will be attacked, where & when, we stand little chance as an idividual to defend our property against an effective & informed force. Do you realy think for example, that if the Delta guys or a seal team wanted your guns they would need body bags ? I have a hard time thinking many of us(if any) are ready or even understand what it would take to get off just one round on those guys. I agree that we should do what we can to protect our rights, but if the gov. is smart, they will not allow us the time to form organized & armed groups. Knowing how many of us own weapons, I would think they will try to cover that angle. Maybe I'm wrong, but since this is all just a what if this or that happened thread, it doesn't realy matter.

I'll make you famous.......

And a few snacks too!

The first uninformed few, but not you right ? I mean you have a gun by your bed & carry one with you all day, so they aren't going to figure out how to get you. I'm with you all the way, but like I said, I'll play the devil's advocate on this deal. What if they kept all children in school one day & you could turn in your guns & pick up your kids or keep your guns & turn your kids over to work in the giant U.N. camps that sprouted up over night ?

Nobody's gonna get shot over my collection.

They're going to have to show up with the proper warrants and etc., and take only the listed guns from my house legitamately, and with their own hands... (If they don't cross every "t" and dot every "i", they're going to meet me and a team of lawyers in Civil Court!)... but I'll follow the law.

If it's a total ban, and I have to hold back a piece or two illegally, to defend my family with, that superscedes the law in my mind, but that's way down the road from an assult weapon ban. And nobody will know about it, ever. I'll be prepared for it ahead of time.

Of course, immediately after they leave I'll join the throngs of us in an enbittered court battle...

But I'm not shooting any fellow Americans. Not even any Nato troopers. Even if they are jackbooted thugs enforcing purely anti-American legislation. My valuation of human life is quite a ways above that of my private gun ownership.

If all else fails, join the police department again as a volunteer. There are ways to stay armed.

Obama's mindset could eventually come down to actually needing to defend your home, but if it does, there will be a whole lot more at stake than the ownership of a gun on the banned list. Gun grabbing politicians will be the least of our concerns at that point. We'll be talking about grassroots militia (us, and some others) banding together to defend the existance of the United States of America as a soverign Nation.

Even with Barry, as much as he'd like to be the supreme lord ruler of an international UN government, I think that's a long ways off.

This is all hypothetical, so at the point of all this going on the federal laws would get thrown out the window or adjusted as seen fit. As stated above, by the time our world got to this point we would have much more to worry about than giving up our guns. I am a Christian, so I pray for a pre-tribulation rapture & hold my Bible as tightly as my rifle. Hopefully that will keep me and my loved ones out of this situation all together.

Any "fellow American" who shows up at my door to take my guns away is no longer a "fellow American" and would become subject to due ramifications
......

I seen where this was all headed in advance and sold them for every penny i could get out of them...and no i didnt ask for the guys name, you find him, not my problem anymore /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif and no, there would be zero guns or ammo for them to find in, around or near my home..i know exaclty where those guns will be and i will go get one to hide nearby when things settle down and they are finished tearing the walls out of the house looking.

if there was a illegal gun in my home and i defended my home and family, they would never know about that either, a hole can be dug deep enough in the forest over night to get rid of a real criminal..SSS shoot shovel shutup.

its also worth noting that searching and rounding up all the guns in the country would be so costly i dont think it could be done, we are not the british, austrailians or canadians, you will see some fools just turn them in, but for every gun turned in willingly there will be 100 hidden.

In 1936 in Germany the Government gave a segment of the population a date and time to report to "work camps' After that date these people were declared crimminal enimies of the state and anyone harboring them or knowingly aiding them were also Crimminals. Fro 1936 to 1945 over twelve million people were murdered by that government, these people were not all part of that crimminal class not had many of them aided or otherwise helped that race of "crimminal enimies" While six million of them were murdered six to eight million people of other classes and races were also murdered. Germany had been considered an "enlightened country" Before the Government was given to a mad man. One who promised "change and prosperity" just give his party a chance. Yes yes keep telling yourselves "it cannot happen here"

As an American a total gun ban is not acceptable. As a matter of fact I'm not in the mood to view any of the present day actions by politicians as acceptable. Many of these people are very dangerous to the very basic concepts of America. We must stand against them on all fronts and support the elected officials that hold true to the values of this country. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Besides I only own one old rusty gun which might have been stolen by an illegal alien to shoot a right wing activist. Trial comes up next week and Nancy Pelosi intends to argue the case as perfectly justifiable since it was a service to HER country and as the supreme (fill in the blank) it is her duty to do away with the heathens that oppose her.

I think I'll get off my stump now. Enough said. Grumble - grumble. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif

Oldturtle, You are right about our founding fathers and their resolve to throw off the "yoke of tyranny" but I wonder if many folks know that most of them were so intent on giving this country a good start that they died broke and in some cases deeply in debt. What does this have to do with this thread? Well what I'm trying to point out is that our founding fathers beleived that if they stood together-no matter what-they would persevere. They had something the Poles discovered. Solidarity.
I see all the time statements like "they wont take them from ME" and "from MY cold dead hands." I would like to find a way to change that type of thinking to "from US" and "OUR cold dead hands. I think most of the people on this forum subconciously feel this way but I would like to see the language start to appear in our posts to each other.
We SHOULD stand united-and start showing it in our language. Once we start to speak it we'll start to do it. How many of us would just stand still if some of the well liked moderators here got busted under a "turn 'em in law" they didn't agree with. I for one wouldn't, I'd do whatever I could to get that individual
out first by hiring the PROPER legal support and when that didn't work (which it wouldn't if such a law would finally make it on the books) I'd do my best to get him out by any other means I thought might work. I'm sure there's guys out there a lot smarter than me and trained a lot more than me that could figure out something. In the military we were trained to look out for each other for the good of the UNIT. And we sure won a lot of wars with this line of thinking. Why is it so hard to do now?
I would also contribute to said individuals family to make sure they were not left destitute somehow by losing someone willing to take a stand.
For those of you who think it wrong for that individual to "put his guns before his family" I say nonsense--if we are really together in this we will all close ranks around that individuals family and the bad guys will see how commited we are to retaining our rights.
I realize this all sounds like "Union-Speak" but that is the exact type of thinking we need right now. I am not nor have I ever been a member of a union--but I look around me and see how much power sticking together has brought unions in this country and say we as gunowners ought to be using those tactics. We should also as one fella stated here attack, attack, attack the liberals on every front we possibly can, the N.R.A.can educate us on the tactics we need to use on a grass roots level. They don't always use their resources as they should but they really know how to mess up a gun grabbing politicos life when they want to. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif In short(?) I think we really need to stop thinking in terms of what-ifs and start thinking in terms of when.
I think that's the basic tenor of this thread. You brought up some very good points and this post is in no way directed strictly at you, it is directed at all 25,000+ members on this forum.
I'm with MCKWALK -we've done this subject enough dang lip-service it's really time to stand up not just for our gun-rights but our right to have a government that works the way our founding fathers intended it to be, not a democracy but a republic. Not the sham beauracracy that is in existence now that thinks nothing of saddleing us,our kids and our grand-kids with an insurmountable debt that we can't even BEGIN to pay the interest on. And they're just getting started.
I gotta quit for now 'cause my bloods starting to boil.
I know it's cliche' but "if guns are outlawed only outlaws will own guns".

My 2 cents worth.
First I do like the ideas being expressed here but I have a litttttte question here - how many people can and will drop the hammer if need be ?
We are physicaly ready but are we really mentaly ready ?
Just my thoughts
