Remington Customer Service!

I'm sorry to say unless they start giving them away I'll never own another Remington. I don't think that they should have to make up the dealer profit, but they should offer an exchange retail dollar for retail dollar with receipt of course. so if you paid $500 you could exchange for a $500 real-world retail price gun. They might take a slight loss on this up front but the back end reward for them would pay off I'm sure.

There are many ways a reputable company who has any respect/loyalty for their customers could handle this deal.

It appears to me that these folks like many other corporate jerks today are concerned about the short term numbers because they intend to cut and run. They don't seem to mind leaving their employees both current and retired as well as their customers high and dry.

I believe this corporate approach is one of the major factors causing the "Long Black Train" wreck we are headed for.

I realize that many of your concerns have not been addressed as quickly as you would have liked, but in all fairness, we really need to give them a chance to respond in one fashion or another.

I have been in communication with them, and have given them this very thread to review. I will be calling them again in the morning to see where this stands so far.

I am not defending anyone here, but I also didn't expect an immediate answer either. For all we know, this could be under discussion at Remington, and they may have an alternative, acceptable resolution to the situation.

All I'm saying guys, is give it a chance to work. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Jeff

BCB,
You are correct Cerberus doesn't completely own GM and Chrysler. They had a stake in both companies. I understand this and just didn't go into complete detail. I think most people get the point but thanks for correcting me. I must have really offended you somehow. Perhaps your day job is installing extractors on Rem 700's.

Folks who start calling other people they don't even know crude names are generally real short on ideas of their own ... You're doing really well at being a living example of that approach...

Edit: Ahhhhh...the old edit key is a wonderful thing when you go a little bit too far with name calling.... Isn't it...?

Just a few rational seconds on the keyboard and its gone forever... Now it never happened.... Right....? LOL..!!

Since you cleaned it up, I'll answer your now abbreviated quote.... NO, I don't install Rem 700 extractors. I've never had a need to.

Now play nice.... I saved the entire quote if you forget and want to be reminded what you originally wrote before your late night edit...

(i'm sorry.....i hav a sick twisted sense of humor)
(still miss'n the little head slap'n his head)

Sorry Jeff! You are right. However, our dissatisfaction is not new news to remington. Many of us have been in contact with folks at remington for some time now.

Hope you have better luck.

They must be thinking real hard on this one

Well, I was going to wait until I had better news, but, my contact at Remington, Al Russo, was just "let go" last week very unexpectedly.

His replacement is just getting moved into his office, and getting his feet wet. I have been in communications with some other folks in the mean time, but the "new guy" is the man I need to speak with.

I hope to be speaking with him this week.

Very frustrating.

I guess I am a little confused as to what this topic is really about. I have contacted Remington Customer Service on two different occasions in the past. Both times I got a speedy response, and have no reason not to be satisifed with them. I can't say the same about other companies, whose customer service department I have been in contact with. I guess it just depends on what one is really looking for.

Was he let go for bringing this up? Makes one wonder.

Edited for TOS...

Is making a comment about pure speculation on the part of someone else a TOS violation...?

Did you happen to read the first post in this thread? It's about people who had enough trust in remington to invest thier hard earned money in one of thier products, and then sh!t went south with that product... now they are taking the loss for remington selling them a gun that cannot safely shoot the ammo it was designed for. I personally don't think asking to be treated fairly is too much to ask for... do you?

You have obviously have had good experiances dealing with remington in the past, and I'm sure alot of other people have too... but I would think that if you were caught up in this one... feelings about them as a company may be a little different.

I'll try to be careful what thoughts I share. Don't want to inspire another personal attack.

Thanks for your efforts Jeff. Keep us posted.

I was asking a question not making any speculation hence the question mark,. I have no idea what happened and why. Makes one wonder is what I was thinking at the time as in... Wonder what happened!

Now perhaps your speculating on what my intention was is this a TOS violation...????

Frustrating yes as Jeff has mentioned.

Skinner,
It was clearly a question. And a good one. Thanks for asking it. If PM can keep good dialog/questions from being blasted off the forum by personal attacks, perhaps the good dialog can continue. And who knows, someone may have an answer.
