The wife and I decided to head out to the auto parts store this afternoon to return a broken part I had bought a couple of days ago. While cruising through the quaint little burg of Huachuca City, I saw 3 groups of illegal aliens, totaling 15 guys walking south(?) on the shoulder of the road. They obviously had missed their ride north and were pretty well pooped out.

Since I was just 1/4 mile or so from the town's cop shop, I pulled in and told the dispatcher at the window that there was a bunch of illegals heading his way. He told me he had already called the Border Patrol, but they were too busy to pick up the ones walking down the road in broad day light. So basically, nothing would be done. It's not the local cops job to pick up illegals, even when they walk right in front of the police station.

Well, that kinda steamed me, so when I pulled out of the parking lot, I decided to just stop and wait for the Mexicans to walk up the road to me.
Now keep in mind, this is right in front of the police station.

When they arrived I just pointed to the police station and shouted across the road to them "Aqui, por favor!" They all looked at me and kind of resigned themselves to the fact that they were out of luck. I walked them over to the Police station and asked the dispatcher where he wanted them. He answered "Just bring them in here", but he sure didn't seem any too happy about the events.

While I was on the side of the road, a guy pulled up behind me and told me he saw a BP truck go right past the guys as they were walking down the road.

I hate it when cops see illegal activity, but don't do anything about it. It's rather hard to ignore illegals when they get brought right in your front door. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
Just goes to show that they're winning back their former territory and that we can't do a dang thing about it because the mexican-american vote is too strong in the Southwest.
 
What are you talking about Mexican-American?
Theyy just passed a law a couple of weeks ago requiring a voter to show ID. Talk about an uproar! How dare they require a person to prove who they are when they vote.

I seems the Mexican vote is a force to be reckoned with in Arizona and California.
 
I don't think you made any friends among the local LEOs Mike.

The phrase "pissing against the tide" comes to mind.

A sorry state of affairs, and only looks to get worse.

Thanks alot Mike! Those guys were on thier way up to Mesa to do some yard work for me? Who's gonna dig the ditches for my sprinklers now?

Boy I tell ya, between you, Customs and the DEA stopping my stuff at the borders, I'm never going to have any fun.

Ya know what's really bad is when the illegals get hurt. They break an arm or something so the BP brings them to the hospital...

Then they won't pick them up because if they do the BP has to pay the bill. Hmm....what do ya suppose the hospital does after they fix 'em up?
 
Everyone wonders why the BP doesn't do too good around here.

Things to consider:

1. If they lock 'em up, our tax dollars support them.

2. There are thousands of them that cross to the US each year so this would be expensive. Remember that the justice system has been known to turn criminals loose for lack of room.

3. Most of them would likely rather be in jail with meals, full medical, and dental than go home and starve.

Now...

Mike rounded them up and turned them in to the HC police. You know why they gave up so easily? You know why the HCPD didn't want them? Because now HCPD has to feed them. Then HCPD turns them over to the BP for deportation (and more feeding), then the BP takes them back to Mexico. Now the illegals have been fed and are all rested up, so they go down the border a ways and try again.

After being fed and cared for, do you really think they would go home?

I was born and raised in this border country of Arizona and have no misconceptions of what goes on. You can bet that the reason those people were walking down the highway is that they wanted to be picked up.

We have a similar type problem here in eastern Canada, except with us the immigrants are legal and mostly from Pakistan. When there are enough of them you'll find their vote has a clout and usually not in the interests of the indigenous people. We complain about the effects of trying to integrate so many of them into a society in such a short period of time, but no one listens. I honestly don't know the answer, and doubt that anyone else does either. Best wishes.

Humane boarders Give me a frigen break. All I can say is stop breeding!!! If life is so terrible, why would you want to bring another person in to the suffering. I don’t get it.

Awesome job Mike!!!! I know we dont normally see eye to eye but Im glad how you acted. You did the right thing even if the cops were to lazy to do their jobs.

I got this from a genuine socal worker. She did a lot of social work and study.

There are a couple reasons for the population abundance in Mexico.

It is a true multi-edged knife.

1-It is felt that large families are wanted, as the health care is so pitiful, some children die. And the remaining children are needed in the hope they will care for the adults in their old age.

We used to have this here in the USA, too.

Pretty much gone now, with better medical care, better potential to earn more wages longer in life, social programs, and whatnot, we tend to look at children as how many do we "want", not how many do we "need".

2) Religion. Some beleive whole-heartedly in a strict doctrine of no birth control, that it is a sin. Now this fires in the face of Mother Nature as we all know, and the result is Mother Nature wins a round every once in a while, and the result is a population increase.

We used to have that one in the USA also within certain segments, but here agian, changing outlooks and circumstances are making it go down.

3) Poverty. Even if they wanted good quality birth control and family planning, they probably could not afford it. But here again, when pited against Mother Nature, Mother Nature can sometimes win a round, and the result is a population increase.
 
Mike I saw one group of 15 right by the Hide Out bar on Sunday when I was coming back from hunting. They were walking right along side of the road. I have the BP number on speed dial on my cellphone since I see them all the time when I'm out hunting. So I called BP and the guy said they had some one on the way. But I guess that was a lie. Good job Mike.
 
You must have better service for HC than I do. I can't usually call out from down in that hole. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
