TSS Round 2

there is no original topic aside from wild, unverified claims about Tungsten shot - TSS in any size will kill anything you shoot it at, at any range(really shines out at around 80+ yards), out of any shotgun, any choke, without all of the tedious and time consuming work it takes to get a shotgun/choke/shell combo to produce good patterns at the ragged edge of it's usable range... but we can only tell you how to load these magic bullets if you buy it from us. i would kindly suggest getting out of this thread and doing some real reading in the firearms forum, where you will see the kinds of fact based evidence and testing that these guys have put some serious time, money and effort into in order to reach the maximum potential effectiveness of their shotguns. have a look at some of the patterning posts and see some of the best patterns that people can get with hundreds of dollars and many hours of EVIDENCE BASED TESTING. a lot of BS gets slung around on the internet, and for good reason, people just do not believe unverified claims of greatness from out of nowhere, with nothing to back any of it up besides a couple photos of some dead animals and one scabby shotgun pattern photo. i'm really not trying to give you guys a hard time, but you need to show us some evidence that what you're claiming is not just a steaming pile of you know what, and insisting that i can increase the usable lethal range of my shotgun by over 60% simply by changing shot material. honestly, i mean no offense, and i would probably buy some TSS if you could verify your claims, but i'm seeing lots of smoke and no fire here. until then, i'll keep shooting 10" 100% patterns at 120 yards with my cylinder bore mossberg 500 and killing huge bucks with low brass 7 1/2's.

I am not going to argue with individuals that add nothing to this thread. Thank you for your nonsense comment, and please move on to another thread, unless you have any genuinely useful info to add to this discussion.

Check out Eco tungsten......

If I remember correctly from a few years back load was said to be just like lead. In fact the seller at that time did post some interesting info and data and also had a reloading forum on the page. I will look and see if I saved the contact add......

Here it is..... http://www.ecotungsten.com/shots.html

AND: Blingslinger or BS I guess you missed my coded direction to you.... So the question still stands.... How many years of shotgun shooting and choke, load, and barrel performance experience do you have and who with..... Just want to know where you are coming from.

Thanks

It doesn't hold a candle to the performance of TSS, Heavyweight, or even Hevishot. It's only advantage is that it is soft, and allows you to shoot it in older shotguns.

As for my experience, I shot competitively when I was much younger, was a 4H shotgun instructor and hunter's education instructior while in college. I've been handloading shotshells for about 28 years and , developing my own loads for the last 12-13 years. In 2009 I was on the R&D team, and helped EM develop what is now their Hevi 13 Mag Blend loads. Added to that, I have spent many many hours of bench time patterning shotguns for turkeys and waterfowl, which involves alot of understanding of bore diameter and how constriction differs from simple exit diameter. I've been around a shotgun and a shell or 2.

Teaching us about this would sure make for a good "sticky" as it is something that few know anything about....including me, and I have been reloading buckshot since 1985, just trial and error. I just bought a inside bore mic for shotguns to try and BEGIN to learn something.

I definitely don't mind posting something up. I have some stuff written up already in my computer files, and will dig around and find it when I have a bit of free time.

bslinger. are you guys selling the tss shot now? is it all sold by the pound? how much per pound? is it all the same price per pound, no matter the size?

We have been selling shot to others, mostly to turkey hunters this time of year. It is sold by the pound, and is the same price regardless of size (except for #12s they are very expensive to make).

STS I sent you a PM with this same info, just figured since we were discussing, I would let everyone else know as well.
