No argument here or even comparing pit bulls to forks.
We have to look at reality.
Many of these laws are passed at grass roots level.
If you read my post as I stated "I helped get a ban enacted by the city with overwhelming signature support from registered citizens. No politicians required. Just myself and a friend tired of dealing with child maiming to disabled mauling deaths by pit bulls in my area.
Many other towns have followed suit. Insurance companies are addressing this too and one question upon applying is do you have any of these breeds.
Last year a town within in our state recorded law enforcement killing multiple pit bulls attacking and injuring/hospitalizing officers. About half dozen separate incidences.

No matter how much some people would like to coddle the idea of a sweet little old lady with two harmless pit bulls that wouldn't harm a flea--
I can show you where those poor pit bulls killed her and partially ate her.

Now if you and your friends want to buck up and help pay for medical or burial expenses for these innocent folks, I'm sure it will be well received

Different breeds were bred to different jobs. Denying that is foolish. All breeds have the ability to bite. Some breeds do much more damage than others when they do bite. I have personally had 3 negative encounters with pits. My neighbors dog bit me and the 6 year old down the street. Luckily I did not have to have plastic surgery like the little boy. The other encounter was another neighbors pit nearly killed a lab until I cracked him in the head with a golf club. I won't judge an entire breed on those 3 experiences. But in the last almost 10 years as an insurance agent 100% of my clients dog bite claims have all been pits and there have been a pretty large number.

But I will say this, you are the best example of ignorance I have read throughout this thread and I read it all. For someone to say that a cur or Catahoula is more vicious that a pit is plum stupid. Cur dogs are normally half the [beeep] size of a full blood pit. Pits jaws are literally big enough to wrap around your skull and crush it without even realizing what they did. Your argument is retarded and you should probably just stop.

you have 1, soon to be 2. a real pit bull expert eh.

Maybe you should go back and read the comment, never once did I say I am any sort of an expert and I don't claim to be. But the person I quoted is trying to be a self proclaimed expert of dog training and is obviously a moron.
