What is the greatest BS story you ever heard?

After the recent thread about the fellow regularly taking praire dogs out to 300 yards with a 17 Hummer made me think of great BS tales that I have heard over the years. Some BS, some just out and out bald faced lies. I bet everyone out there has one or two really great ones that they would like to share, so please do so. They make good reading.

A lungshot coyote will not travel far. Greatest myth I ever read.

+1 I have seen double lung shot coyotes go for over an hour.

Certainly not the greatest but I love hearing guys saying I just bought a Glock XX, shot it for the first time offhand and every shot went into a single hole at 25 yds. Well, these bozos have to be Olympic/world caliber to even approach that as a typical Glock can't shoot that well out of a Ransom mechanical rest. Don

I never had sexual relations with that girl! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif He could say the same thing about Hillary for the last 20 years and that would not be B.S.

"we got off the plane and ran for cover with our heads down while under sniper fire..." oh wait that wasn't a BS story, it was a misstatement...

"my 22-250 shoots 50 grainers at 4000fps but my buddies does 6000fps easy"

"a 308 wont kill an elk, they might as well bounce off"

"I have two 30/30's, a lever action and a pump, they are about the same except, the pump, when its bullets get out there around 200 yards they speed up"

"my dad shot a white tail 6 times behind the shoulder with a 300 win mag, didn't even slow it down"

All these are real from my brothers gun store customers.

My buddy just got sent to Iraq and his uncle was at the going away party and I asked him if he had any yotes on his farm.He said of "Oh yeah! Thats not all we got all kinds of mountain lions and other types of cats."So I had to ask how and he says"Them circus trains come thru there all the time losing critters and nobody reports it so they wont get in trouble".I think he really believed it himself. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Certainly not the worst, but for some reason I've remembered this one for over 30 years. I had gone to a party at a friends house, and a guy that worked with his wife was there. I'd never met him before.

I guess my friend had told him I was a hunter, so he felt I was a "kindred spirit". We swapped a few tales, of course, but his were way better than mine.

Before the night was over, he had a lifetime membership at King's Ranch (a birthday gift from his grandfather), and had killed not one, but SEVEN running elk at over 800 yards.

As hard as I tried for the rest of the night, I just couldn't get drunk enough to forget that conversation.....

Someone once tried to convince me that bullets turn into liquid metal when they leave the barrel.

And a Gun Dealer telling me he doesn't do FFL Transfers.

At a trapping convention they had a liar's contest, best one I heard was " The Wonderment" Took him about 10 minutes to tell it. Wish I had it recorded, I hear the man has passed on now.T.20

I do purdy good with arron sights down to that fence line yonder. (The fence was 1/4 mile away) Oh and his longest shot on a deer was 550yds with a 300 Mag. Also he was bowhunting and had a deer spot him instantly when he tried to draw, hard to believe cause he was 52' up in a pine tree. Anyway I need a pic of the fella to complete the stories, kinda like the pic of the big ol' boy from the internet that been floatin around here, but worse.
