Whats your squarril gun?

An oldie but goodie...Rem 541-S sporter .22 rimfire bolt gun, with the 540-X target action and trigger but slim long sporter barrel (with a match-spec chamber), purchased 33 years ago almost to the day. A tackdriver with a perfect trigger. When it pops, some unfortunate rodent usually croaks, unless I screw up. Think I'll take it with me when I 'go'.

Ruger 10/22
Green Mountain 20" SS FL barrel
T-Rex laminate ambidexterous thumbhole stock
Volquartsen bolt, hammer, mag extention, etc
Simmons Aetec 4-12x44 scope

Ruger 10/22 finger-groove sporter with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x on it. Winchester Power Points.

Big squirrels? Ruger 77/22 magnum, same scope, Hornady 32 gr. V-max.

Marlin Model 60 with open sights. Had a scope but traded it for another. Tomorrow im going to take out my Smith and Wesson 22 A-1 and try to pop a few.

I always lean toward a 22 for tree rats as others have stated I like too eat em.I use my first gun which is a simple marlin model 25m bolt action 7 shot, with a cheap ol tasco 4x32 and i use CCI STINGERS in it.shells cost a little more than prob should put through this cheapo set up but boy is it hard on them.Crows and whistle pigs dont seem too agree with it very well neither! The stingers are a nasty little cartridge.Thats my 2 cents and about my 10 cents worth of gun too!

They are, but the case is longer than a standard .22LR and they won't chamber in most match barrels. Sounds like they're working for you, though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
I used to shoot a lot of Stingers in my Marlin back in Idaho, they would dump jackrabbits better than anything I tried. I finally wore the receiver out so bad in that Marlin it wouldn't cycle reliably and I gave it away. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

marlin .22lr bolt action.or an old marlin .22lr 39a mountie lever.never use a shotgun anymore.i just gotta get em before they get up the tree....lol

I start the season in June w/ a single shot 22 shooting shorts. When they start getting highter in the trees I go strait to the .17 HMR. Savage. Man I love that gun.

We've got gray, black, red and orange squirrels in Louisiana. I like to use my CZ 452 in 17m2. I like the Agula 17 ammo and have a Nikon Monarch 3-12 on top. This setup groups nicely at 100 yards and leaves something to make gravy.
I have a gray cat squirrel with a white tail I am hoping to capture with my trail camera at my deer feeder. When deer season is over he may get a case of lead poisoning.

i use a Ruger 10/22, customized w/green mtn bull barrel, Rinhardt Fajen thumbhole stock, and Bushnell Dawn to Dusk 4-12x40 AO. I`ve made head shots @ 50+ yards, the gun is short and handles well, but is a little heavy for a .22. my favorite ammo is Rem .22 Subsonic.
