Why do you need 30 rounds in a mag? or 100?

I for one don't need a 30 round mag. to hunt with. I prefer single shots or bolt guns. My first AR purchase came after a quite tense encounter hunting along the border. I still hunt with a 5 round mag. But I also carry a 30 round mag. in my pocket. If our government would do their job. I wouldn't feel the need to carry high capacity magazines. But our government has not taken border security seriously so that is the world I live in. If calling any where close to the border I feel the need to go prepared.

havent any of you seen red dawn? or any zombie movie... lol in all seriousness [beeep] living in ny i get alot of [beeep] about my opinions on guns, but i go to sleep everynight knowing if some sob decides to make my house the next house in my neighborhood to be broken into, i have a means of defending myself, and my family. that said 10 rounds, 20 rounds, 500 rounds, whos right is it to tell you what you can own! man these people piss me off, banning guns only makes them illegal if you obey the law.

Funny thing, that's exactly the way I feel about your comments on this subject. Truth is nobody really cares what you think or what your opinion is. When you become an American citizen then your opinion "might" hold a little more value. Until that time you really don't have a dog in this hunt.
 
The gov't should make high capacity mags illegal so no one can use them in another mass shooting?!? That's such an awesome idea (pass me the tofu fellow vegan!) They should also make meth. and crack illegal so there wont be any more drugs on our streets or in our schools. While they're at it , they should make child abuse illegal so that doesn't happen anymore! It sounds like such a perfect world under the rainbow. I wish some of these people would wake up and realize that making AR's with high cap. mags unavailable to the average law-abiding citizen, will NOT keep this from happening again! (Did I miss the push for a ban on box-cutters after 9/11?)

Banning 30 rd mags but not 20 rd mags is saying "We're ok with you wiping out 20 people with well placed shots but we draw the line at 30." Banning 20 rd mags but not 10 rd mags is the same silliness.

This kind of debate is just posturing on the side of the Liberals. It's entirely immaterial what is available to the law abiding citizen because the we don't break the law. The criminal, by definition doesn't obey the law so the laws don't apply to him. But because we follow rules and the govt can't take out it's frustration of being impotent to control crime, they make themselves feel better by lashing out at the law abiding citizen.

Look at Australia, Mexico and all other socialist countries. The law abiding citizen is relegated to a .380 while the cartels and gangs, etc have more firepower than their military. How does banning a 30rd mag prevent a criminal from going on a rampage? It doesn't.

So because of 1 Canadians comments where all labelled the same Irish 80? I see no differance. I really dont want you guys losing rights but I dont want some moron labelling Canadians bad as a whole either

It wasn't a dumb comment it was a sarcastic one to show that sense you guys aren't American citizens your views don't really matter. We have rights and principles that you guys gave away or never had in the first place. It was made to show that you probably don't care what we think if your country and that i don't car what you think of my country. It's easy to be jealous of what others have when you don't have it. And to be honest about the whole 30 round mag thing. I do have 2 of them and have never shot them. They came with the gun when I bought it.
 
Like I said, you're upset because he did just as you did. What makes you special?

If anything, we should thanks Canada. It shows us how poorly some of our decisions can turn out. We're not giving an inch without a fight! I'm really hoping there is a US to come back to, once I arrive back home.
