Guy I hunt on keeps sending me pics of a pair of foxes he want gone. Tell him he’s killing me. I have to wait till the grapefruit ripen before I head back.

Another member of the antelope family, the white bearded wildebeest, native to southern Africa and are doing well in S. TX. The average height of the species is 45–59 in. Males can weigh up to 900 lb; females to 550 lb. Both male and female have horns, however the females horns are not as heavy as the bull's. Adults are charcoal grey, but the young are buckskin color, beginning to turn to the grey phase around 2 months of age.

Bulls form bachelor herds, juveniles remain w/the female herds. Not uncommon to see single bulls at beginning of breeding season.

While the wildebeest are often seen w/one or more zebra, less common to be seen with other species. Did catch this unusual pair grazing in close proximity one morning.

hm1996, do they use these rarer species for breeding programs, where in there native place there are endangered?
Yes, they do. Several years back there were more scimitar horned oryx in Texas than there were in their homeland. There were several different restocking efforts going on and I'm not sure which one they were working with, but some sent animals from the herds shown above were sent back to re-stock. At the time this was being done, a cites tag was required to harvest one in Texas. That has been discontinued, so they must have been successful.
AFAIK, none of the other animals pictured are on the endangered list.

That's some really nice bucks. Like the dog's bedroom, too. :)
