Deep conceal gun?

For our first anniversary I bought my wife a Rem 580. For our 5th she got me an M29 8 3/8. Thankfully, she's kept me around for 30 more.

Those are two great love stories! My wife is always for me buying guns, too (and knives, which I get more of due to insufficient funds). It's good to have a pro-gun wife.

One of my friends came by while I was in the shower and wife came and told me he was out there.I told her to just tell him where I was.She did and he said something smart to her like he would have me but it made her mad.She told me when I came out of the bathroom about it and said you need to whip his a$$.I said I don't know if I could do that now.She said you could if I hold a gun on him.Nice to have back up.

I always carry my Glock 23- .40 caliber in a Serpa CQB holster. It's a good secure holster if you had to run or fight with it, but also easy for me to access quickly. I'm planning on installing a laser sight, since I'm a worse shot with it than any other handguns I have owned. I should have done that when I first started carrying it. I have no problem hiding it, even if I have to leave my shirt untucked. I have several other holsters for it that I had used in the past that just aren't secure enough that I should get rid of.

She's your wife! Man up and tell her.

Then be sure to have her post the date/time of the funeral.

Of all the pocket 380s (keltec, lcp, bodyguard, etc. Not including Khar, Sig, etc.), I and my wife chose the S&W bodyguard over the others for one reason. Dove tailed sights and the option of night sights. Add a crossbreed mini tuc and I don't know its there. Secure and concealable even here in Las Vegas with 110+ temps and without hardly any change in wardrobe. Oh and the built in laser was a bonus. Big guns are fun to shoot but not carry. Small guns can be great to carry but not necessarilyfun to shoot at the range. If its not comfortable to carry, it will probably get left home. Make sure you train with what you carry. Shooting a few rounds at a stationary target a couple times a year just don't cut it.

Mine asked me if she could come out and shoot at my range sometime, and proceeded to show me how to shoot my Smith Model 19 .357 Mag to chase golf balls out to about 40 yards. Yep, she was a keeper as well. Now she is telling me to get the rest of my reloading stuff out of storage so that I can load all the ammo I can before we can't get the materials to do it and my primers go bad from the heat/humidity.

Whats the old joke I got a really nice Remington 870 for my wife for Christmas. It was the best trade I ever made!!!!!!

Glock 27 in the summer, Glock 17 in the winter. I use gold dots in both. I was always trained its not how many times you hit them or with what round its where you put them.. Center mass, front sight, front sight press!!!! If I had a choice it would be my AR if I knew I was going to be in gunfight.

My son is an LEO he has an old M14 for an issued rifle in his truck. Its heavy its ugly but man will it shoot. My advice to him was if you think your going to a gun fight be darn sure you take the M14. That .308 is a real stopper. Bring on the body armor if it doesn't penetrate you will be beat up so bad you may wish it had.

I am going to resurrect this post. If everyone will humor me for a few minutes I have another question.

I did not get my conceal carry permit. We moved away from the problem to a better location and while I still wanted to do it, the cost of owning two homes (mine has become un sellable, leads to the initial request...) and time spent moving and updating shelved the topic for a while.

Until yesterday.

I was in with my wife and two small children looking around a property we gained access to hunt. We were unarmed, and separated at one point. We found ourselves surrounded buy a number of intoxicated locals that wished to trespass on the property in which we are guests. They appeared armed, mobile and unhappy that access was recently gated off. They found my wife and daughter before me. I rushed to the scene, but was helpless.

Holy crap, was that real. At one point, our exit by vehicle was blocked by theirs. I had no cell service and honestly couldn't have told authorities where we were. We were unprepared.

In the end, they turned out to be friendly, good natured and polite. But there was a few scary moments while figuring that out. They simply wanted to ride the property that they had access to for years. Still need to go untuck my shorts though.

What if they hadn't been? There were too many of them if they wanted a fight. There is no doubt in that. But I should not have been unarmed. It was stupid and wreckless to go there without something that could help me in a more serious situation with less people.

My wife now sees the value of me getting my ccw. I am not looking for a deep concealment piece now. I need to be able to conceal it but it will be for when I am bowhunting and will likely be fall, winter and spring when I use it. A holster that I cover with a jacket will be fine. I can carry open where I will be by law, but still don't want to walk around showing. That changes the tough conversation in the beginning.

So if there is such thing as a medium concealment gun, what would I look for? By sizing up a bit I am guessing that I can up the caliber and capacity a fair amount. I need something that won't blind me or burst my eardrums when fired.

I value and appreciate the input I find on this forum. Thanks for reading. Thank you God for watching over us yesterday. You sent the message, and I listened.

I carry my 1911 hi-cap .45 or my S&W model 29.I carry one or the other every day.If the size of the hole at the end of the barrel don't imtimate,my ability to shoot either one accurately will save my hide.

If you want "Deep Concealment",,,Look at the Diamond Back 9mm (they also make a .380) in a DeSantis IWB holster...

This is a palm size, well made (mini-Glock) that is flat and small, but loaded with the Hornady 95gr defense rounds, it's very accurate out to 50 yards...

I've had mine for over a year now, and it sits well in my hip pocket with a pair of Levis, or the front pocket with a pair of khaki pants...Most of the time it's in the holster with just my shirt covering it and unless someone is patting you down, it will never be noticed...To go really "deep cover" I guess I could use a Belly Band, but then it's difficult to access in a hurry...

I looked at a lot of other "mouse" guns before buying this one and most had faults of one kind or another that I would not bet my life on in an emergency...Some were about the trigger pull, some about the accuracy, etc...

I conceal an XDC in 9mm everyday, but my next purchase will probably be an XDS. My girlfriend conceals a Glock 19 everyday. You would be surprised what can be concealed, the trick is doing it comfortably. For years I used a SuperTuck, but we now use a White Hat Holster/ horsehide.

Thanks. I am looking at the glock 19, ruger sr9c, and beretta px4 for a starter gun. I am relatively new to handguns and from my reading will start with a 9 mm to get familiar with the platform and gain proficiency.
