Just to refresh my memory I went to Midwayusa.com and started the purchasing process. Here is a list of what came up with pricing, I am not sure how to paste in a post with an HTML format so forgive the way it is printed out. The default selection was USPS Priority Mail and it was also the cheapest. YOU had the option of changing to a trackable carrier. True it would have cost you about a buck forty more but you have probably spent more than that in PeptoBismal over it. It is still not a life or death matter either. I am just assuming but you probably used a credit card to purchase this which means you have recourse over the payment if the item does not get to you. Bottom line is that you are the one who had control in this situation, they did not send it USPS against your wishes from the sounds of it. Now if you did request UPS instead and they did not ship it that way then you do have an grievance if for nothing else the shipping charge.

I hear what you are saying and have dealt with this type of stuff for probably more years than you are alive. I know it is a [beeep] when stuff like this happens and to post your dis-pleasure is not a problem. It is the way it was posted. I know folks say things in the heat of the moment they may not think about until after it is said. As a law enforcement officer, see this every day.

Back to the subject. First, I would check the tracking as mentioned. It could be someone at Midway handling your orders was having a bad week, on drugs, not getting any, or some mental issues! Who knows. Could be that normal person was on vacation and some unskilled person was trying to cover for them. It could be back ordered! Stuff happens.

This is what tracking is for, following the path home. The reason for 14 days is UPS requires this time frame before looking for a lost package to see if it shows up first.

I am sure that Larry would want to know about this problem because it may be happening to others as well and they not know it. No one wants to lose business. As far as shipping cancelled items, one wrong key on the computer is all it takes to screw up. Once saw a sign that said, " If you really want to screw something up, put it on computer.

We need to just back off and let this thing die.
 
i am sure i didnt speak my mind in the correct manner, and for that i am sorry to all. as far as my order. i always call midway on the phone because of the last mess up i had with them over the net. i dont recall haveing an option on shipping. 2 days after placing my order i receive an e-mail saying my package has been shipped usps. i live about 2 hours from there headquarters i just dont thik it should take 5 working days to have my order on my front porch. so i called asking for a tracking number. they say they dont get tracking numbers through usps, so i said thats just great. i hung up the phone and stewed a while and called back. same answer no tracking. i replied thats not very good business considering the purchase. i have had not so good experiences with usps. i am worried my package is lost or damaged. that would be just my luck lately. lee
 
lee..i can't explain..it's "kinda" like this..when i go thru my cancelled check's..i can send my bill's off @ the same time..yet a bill that goes to texas seem's to clear my bank..quicker..than one to nearby boise..mileage has nothing to do with it..

There's only one problem with that, a lot of people just show up at the local race track just to see a car wreck, a lot like this thread. Like it or not this thing has nearly 1000 views to this point and it would not take much for this to have double the views of any other thread on the front page. Lots of car wrecks = lots of viewers = lots of happy advertisers. Not condoning it but I think all parties involved kept it to a point that it remained civil enough considering the large number of members here and the wide range of personalities. No harm, no foul. Personally I would not have posted this but I am that much closer to 900 posts and I like to teriminate things on a round number.

Midway ships it the way you chose, they will ship UPS or USPS. UPS is the only way to go, that way you get the tracking number up front. It sounds to me like you did it to yourself. My advice is to stop doing business with them and let it be. Find another company you can rag on someday.

Midway USA rules! I have bought hundreds of dollars of products from ole Larry and consider his company to be top notch. Sorry for your bad experience.

even if you send usps you can get a tracking # by way of delivery conformation so it really sounds like you had better look in the mirror and pin the blame on yourself

Most of you guys out there are in the same boat as I. We are just an old bunch of dogs chasing cars. We have little or no chance of catching one, and if we did, we wouldn't know what to do with it.

Wow! I have been purposely avoiding this thread all day just because..Its another lee problem.(sorry lee)

RePete, if you find that you are taking too much time, check out a TURP, aka "roto-rooter". Do a search, you'll find it. I had it done 5 years ago and now I'm in and out so much faster. As you get older it's amazing what little things bring pleasure.
