I would agree with the CZ 550, and would be tempted by the kevlar stocked one. For an old model I would pick a Browning Safari like the one I have. A Sako action with a better stock.
Savage , Cz, Tikka, then a custom of some sort but I just like Savage although I would like to have a Kenny Jarret beanfield ( don't know why just would )
Sako, and without money as a concern I would order a barrel and a year later
have it re-barrelled in a 1:8. I won't ever own another 22-250 that is not
at least a 1:12.
I would try and find a Rem 700 BDL heavy barrel with a good barrel of the 1970 Vintage or a Rugger heavy Varmint of the same vintage with a good barrel.
For new I think I would try a high end Savage varminter.
A quick twist 22/250 would be pretty great.
I just don't want to buy a rifle then have to put another $ 550. Into a barrel. .
The 243 ends up being a lot more practical. . For my use anyway.
If I was buying one, I'd probably go with a CZ. I'm currently building one, though. Mauser action, Timney trigger, heavy barrel, walnut stock. Not the most practical, maybe, for Alaska, but it was what I wanted.

Never did understand the 1:14 TR that they put on some of them.
I kinda like the Stainless fluted varmint weight Savage model 12 but I might would get a Winchester Featherweight instead since a sporter weight rifle would be more versatile.

It's really quite simple.
The 250 was originally desigened as a Varminter, and that ment shooting light, explosive bullets really fast.
Still does in my mind, but the trend today is to turn em into 243's (or something else that they aren't).

I don't like the idea of of pushing more than a 60 but I like 55s in the 22-250. Always thought a 1:12 was perfect. Course with the 1:14 you can make those lighter bullets scoot
Being somewhat biased, as I own a Tikka T-3 Stainless Varment, It shoots as good as many custom rifles I have seen and maybe better than some. Its bone stock with a little trigger tuning and is like a lazer. Therefore, I put Tikka up to the top of the list.
The bolt broke where the handle fits the bolt its self broke am looking for a smith that can fit it. eather fix the old or make a new bole thanks for the help but that is not the part I nead Ron
