I'm going to eat some coyote meat

Yeah I've been waiting to see if you had to have your stomach pumped, and if they put you on a mental hold at the hospital.

Epic.. If you die we will feel bad.... at least for 15 posts or so!!

Maybe Trashcan will share a recepie? IIRC, he`s tried bobcat. I don`t think coyote could be any worse than some of the nasty stuff I tried at a wild game feed. Possum, coon, and a few others.. yuck,
Just make sure it`s well done. I`d do it if`n I was starving half to death.

Bobcat is actually pretty good

there is a guy over on arfcom that has video taped eating coyote and other predators. check it out. for what it's worth coyote was the nastiest

If you eat enough of it you may end up being able to lick your own nuts. Then let's see how many want to try coyote.

We have a wierd homeless guy in Peoria called "Roadkill Willy",who eats roadkill. Supposedly he's writing a cook book on the subject. Maybe you two can hook up and go on a book signing tour. I think you guys would hit it off great. If interested let me know. I try and hook you up

I have eaten just about everything that bleeds in north america, and I will say, anything canine or feline is repulsive to the taste. I was a chef for 13 years, and I can make an old boot taste like a smoked pig before I could make either of those species taste like anything more than bad jerkey marinated in stale urine. And for anyone interested, I know lots of ways to make coon, possum or muskrat that I think are quite tastey. The key is marinades made with either whiskey or red wine, dont skimp on the salt and cook at low heat with frequent basteing. Wrapping meat in bacon always helps too. Like I said, if anyone wants to know how to cook something most people wont eat, get a hold of me, chances are I can steer you in the right direction.

We cooked up some coyote backstrap on a javelina hunt I was on in S Texas week before last and it was so tough I could not bite a piece off. I think my cousin overcooked it but I'm not sure I would want to eat any medium rare coyote. I have eaten it once before and other than being tough, the flavor is fine. About like beef in my opinion. It sure needs to be tenderized some way though.

ROTFLMAO,good one Jim!

I have alot of cooking experience with wild game and the basic theory is, the less fat on an animal, the more likely it will be tough and have an unbearable taste. Although bear has alot of fat, but I'm not a big fan. If you really want to eat a coyote, fox or cat, I would suggest putting it through a grinder with some salt pork and using it for a pasta sauce with a generous amount of fresh garlic, basil and oregano. Slow cook it in a pan and add it to the sauce like you would any meat, and slow cook it fo
