Five words come to mind from this thread:

1. crawfishin'

2. fake news

3. smoke screen

Don't omit "deflection" ... Can't get a straight answer to straight questions. All the above coupled with the refusal to shoot in front of an independent witness and the claims which are counter to the combined experiences of some very meticulous and experienced coyote shotgunners, I'm now calling shenanigans and outright bullchit.

Deflection is probably a more appropriate and definitive word. I was using smoke screen for it.

I'm definitely not going to bet $100 against your last sentence, GC...

I’ve always liked “obfuscation”.

A great word for the discussion. I like it....!!

obfuscate

v.
To make so confused or opaque as to be difficult to perceive or understand: "A great effort was made . . . to obscure or obfuscate the truth” ( Robert Conquest).
v.
To render indistinct or dim; darken: The fog obfuscated the shore.

Yeah, that too.

Just for clarification... At the first I'll freely admit I was skeptical of the claims. We see all sorts of wild shotgunning claims here at PM from time to time. I thought, oh boy here we go again. With that said, I was also keenly interested and very open to the possibilities. I mean, that's ground breaking stuff to consistently throw 50% patterns of large lead shot at 100 yards. A shotgun that could consistently kill coyotes at such ranges and with lead shot? That's really something special and very interesting to me. However, the more talk made, the less actual evidence and information provided, lots of obfuscation (!) and my confidence level in such a thing began a downward spiral. Claims of complete penetration of lead T shot at 100+ yards, special barrel and 60+ chokes, refusal to shoot for money with an independent witness, flashing credentials (what "credentials"?) at Bass Pro and getting a sales clerk fired immediately and a few other things just don't square up in my opinion. It's just MY opinion and it's based on MY experience and for ME that I choose to discount the posters stories. Others are free to do as they choose. I could easily be proven wrong, the challenge presented by STS is simple and fair. Waiting on that to happen... or not?

if the $100 bet is a problem (gee, what else could it be
lol.gif
) here is another way we could do it.

WE DO A NO MONEY CHALLENGE. NO BETS. the witness shows up on scheduled shoot day and does what a witness does.

if things go the way the assassin dude claims, i will give the witness $50 for his time, fuel, lunch, etc.

if things dont go the way assassin claims, he pays the witness $50 for the same reasons.

my reasons for all this is much like gc said. if it can be done, i want to know. if somebody is full of crap, then everybody should know. at this point i am 100% sure somebody is full of crap.

prove me and everybody else wrong.

A you tube video of him shooting the white piece of paper on that day's newspaper front page would suffice, eh?

Back in the Day, we shot T shot on snows and honkers from 100-125 yards, and a lot of them folded up.

I did a penetration test on lead BB's on 1/4" plywood at 75 yards, MV of 1350, lots of pellets went though the plywood. BB's were no where near effective on geese as T.

I think that 1ASSASSIN is a man of very high integrity. I don't think that there would be any way he would stoop to a bet or put people down because they are ignorant of these advanced abilities.

I would hope that he would engage to "teach" and enlighten us of what is possible. I do believe that the patterns that 1ASSASSIN has shown us here is like shooting a dime at 1000 yds on the first shot. The You Tube video would be a documentation with millions of hits, and would be popular for many years to come.

i would hope so also. not holding my breath for it however.

If he hasn’t figured it out in the last 9 1/2 years since the post was made, I’d say chances are it’s not looking good for him. At least this dead thread resurrection has made for some entertaining reading..

Reminds me of a thread where someone professed to dropping deer at 100 yards with TSS, then posted a pic with a deer with a bullet hole in its neck.

Quote: claims which are counter to the combined experiences wisdom of some very meticulous and experienced coyote shotgunners.

I am not meticulous but I dang sure would not bet against some of you shotgunners... this is a really good resurrection...

Being a non shot gunner I didn't know what to make of this stuff.
A search for long range shotgun shooting is useful and to me surprising. Just like anything else those who are really into shotguns know a lot of stuff about shotguns that riflemen seldom think about..

Psycho is one of a few who would try to obfuscate a current day conversation with a 9.5 year old irrelevant question........

Whew..!!! That took a lot of serious typing to get it right with that big word........

As for the current topic, assassin hit an all-night Walmart about 2 AM to find 10" paper plates, and he's "experimenting " as we speak. He has plenty of time, however, as the clergy can't be there until mid afternoon.

The comments about my pastor and his family being here is totally uncalled for and very childish! They came over to shoot a couple of rounds of trap with me and a couple of other guys. I have enough land that I do not shoot on public ranges, and people I do not know are not allowed on my property.

And I still haven't figured out the comment about my pattern frame being made out 2x4's. Scrap wood that I did not have to go buy!

Not true!

No different than George Digweed consistently shooting crows and pigeons 80 to 100+ yards, or even clay pigeons at those distances! And he is shooting factory ammo, not loads that it took him years to develop.

I'm also not the only one that shoots coyotes "long range" with a shotgun. There are a group of guys in Texas with custom shotguns and loads that far surpass anything that I am doing. We learned a lot about shotguns over the years, and what can be done with them when used to their full potential.

And at the same time, you still have "unknowledgeable" People that say you cannot kill a deer past 40 yards with a 12 ga. slug, no matter how many time you shoot it. Most "knowledgeable" People no better.

Oh well!

You were the one who dragged them into the conversation to add to your credibility. Lots of people own land.

LOL.... Don't be paranoid about everything said.

Ya' think....? If you saw that as a true fact being made.... Oh, my.

Yep, that seems pretty obvious to me too Winny.
I think my comment was the wrong one to get quoted and bold-typed for “dragging”.
