Predator hunters are predators in their own right. Coyotes kill everything from mice and rabbits to livestock that men need to survive and thrive in this world. Predator hunters, in contrast do what they do according to the laws in their region. The furs are sold for profit for the hunter and for clothing and fashion for others. Predator hunters are a huge help to managing wildlife by reducing the numbers of predators. When I was growing up woodchucks were everywhere where I live. Tons of them were hit in the road everywhere you looked, but farmers had to keep shooting them or have someone do it for them, or the fields their crops and livestock were in would be full of dens. Each den could have three or even four holes. Now a woodchuck is rarely seen, and almost never hit in the road. We used to have cottontail rabbits everywhere. Now there are very few rabbits, even in our villages. Coyotes, on the other hand, are everywhere, even in our villages at night.
My sister and brother in law have had six young beef calves killed by coyotes this year alone. Can you tell them that the coyotes had to eat, and it's just balancing the ecosystem? They put a lot of hard work and money into their farm, with a very narrow profit margin.
Two different friends of mine both found two young fawns torn apart by coyotes on their property this year. The deaths of those four deer alone will affect the deer herd numbers this year and in years to come.
Hunting is part of being human, and can be traced back to when God told Adam and Eve to go forth and multiply, and to take dominion over the animals. It isn't just done indiscriminately.
