I'm going to eat some coyote meat

I say GO FOR THE GOLD & eat yourself one of those big ole' stinkin males you find in the peak of their breeding season! You know, the ones that you can smell from about 30 feet away! Yeah, then I'll watch.

I really don't think it would be that bad. If you've ever ate at a taco stand or chinese gourmet, you've probably eaten worse.

But of course i'll watch!!

Geez, if I would have known I could have gotten free stuff, I would have filmed my coyote consumption. I ate two whole hind legs! This was him. Now doesn't he just look delicious?

Having eaten dog and camel in the past, I'll bet it'd be pretty good. Not sure about steakin' out the backstrap, though. Give it a whirl? I'd definitely be interested in your preparation of it. Seems to me like you'd need a LOT of Old Bay for that one, though.

Tell you what, if you do it, I'll do it, too. In fact, I'll eat part of my first one, whenever I can get around to finally seeing one again. Not gonna eat tha wiener or cojones though. I'll try a flank.

I had a history teacher that told me that some Native Americans ate dog. They also fed it to the Whites much to the white mans horror when they found out.

He then said that many cultures still eat dog.

I believe the guy, he knows his stuff.

I think fox seems less gross to me. Try fox and coyote and tell us which is better.

A lot of us here have eaten mountain lion, I don't know why cat seems less gross that canine, it just does.

Good luck,

P.S. Don't let your wife know, you will be in the dog house.

i say do a brine soak for 24 hours
then grind it up and make some Coytacos with some HOT chilis and some cheese and a splash of sour creme and a Cold beer afterwords!

SalemDawger hit the nail on the head, certain Native American tribes ate dog all the time, and a few southeast asian cultures it is considered a delicacy. I am trying to remember if it was on the menu that one fateful trip to Thailand when I was in the Corps....hhhhmmmm!!! Cant remember too much other stuff going on....LOL Happy Hunting and Grilling SHampton, look forward to the posting.

have had dog steaks in Korea, quite expensive but really tender and tasty, don't know how they marinated it. cat is good white meat, and a lot of folks eat bobcats and lions they harvest. i plan on eating the next bobcat i get. as for cooking i would advise a long marinate then cook in a pressure cooker to ensure it hits 150 degrees to kill any parasites that are there, plus the pressure makes anything tender. then do it like pulled pork and make bbq sammiches! serious about eating the next cat and i would try the coyote but if you just take fresh meat and throw it on the grill it would be tough as boot leather.

BTW how is that air skinning working out? i have watched everything there is to watch about it and have made my own needles for my compressor but dog season for me is coming up and i want to try it out.
